Night photograph inside a temple corridor behind a metal grille gate. Several men crowd the gate; a bare-chested man in orange cloth and gold-coloured necklaces, with white ash markings on his forehead, stands in the foreground beside a devotee in a white shirt. Another man in orange cloth with a white forehead mark and gold necklace, and a devotee in a white dhoti with a yellow border, press forward with folded hands and green leaves held near the gate. Stone carvings and white-washed pillars line the left side, with a lamp-lit interior behind the bars.2010-12-29A crowded temple interior at night under bright tube lights, with a dense crowd pressing toward a gold iron railing on the left. In the centre, a large decorated deity murti or palanquin with a bright orange-yellow flame and a garland of multicoloured flowers is carried forward. Men in white shirts and dhotis, some with folded hands in namaskar, and bald priests and devotees in orange and saffron cloth surround it. Several people hold up mobile phones and a video camera. Stone pillars and carved ornamentation frame the hall, and a sign reads in Tamil script above the entrance. A cluster of about twenty to thirty people is visible.2012-04-05March 01 20182018-03-01December 29 20102010-12-29May 24 20122012-05-24April 05 20122012-04-05January 07 20122012-01-07A crowded temple interior with a dense throng of men and some women pressing toward a grilled gate on the right. Uniformed police officers in khaki stand among the crowd. At center, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears a saffron/orange robe and a rudraksha mala, and is surrounded by several shaven-headed priests in saffron and pink-red dhotis or wraps, some bare-chested with beaded malas. A man in a white shirt with a mala stands at left foreground. Stone pillars and a wrought-iron grille frame the scene, with a yellow-topped counter at right.2012-01-07A photograph of a dim temple corridor with a crowd moving toward a brightly lit inner sanctum where deity murti are visible. In the centre, a man in orange saffron robes with a long gold-and-rudraksha necklace, a pale forehead mark and long dark hair walks forward holding hands with an elderly bare-chested man in orange dhoti and rudraksha mala. Around them, a bald monk in orange, a man in white shirt with a dark rudraksha mala, uniformed police officers in khaki and devotees in white dhotis and orange cloth fill the passage. The presentation cues are consistent with a person, though the face is not visible enough to be certain. A dark signboard with Tamil text hangs on the right wall.2012-05-20January 07 20122012-01-07January 15 20092009-01-15January 07 20122012-01-07
