A tall wooden ceremonial pole topped with a finial rises from a white square plinth in the centre, with a seated figure at its base. Rings of small oil lamps glow on the ground in circular patterns around the courtyard, and palm trees and smoke frame the scene under a blue evening sky. Several people in white clothing move about: a woman in a pale sari carrying an item near the lamps, a man in white with a yellow cloth over one shoulder, and others in white walking across the courtyard. A dark cushioned seat sits on a plinth in the foreground.2010-07-28 +1 copiesJuly 28 20102010-07-28 +1 copiesOutdoor ritual on a dusty ground beneath tall coconut palms. Many devotees sit cross-legged on mats in rows, mostly in white clothing with red shawls or sashes, and some in yellow or saffron. Several sit beside small smoking fire pits, and smoke drifts through the palms. A tall tapered pillar with a trident finial stands centre background beside white shrine platforms and a dark deity murti. A red raised block with a kalasha-like top stands in the foreground. A standing man in white is bent over a fire at right. Nearby a figure in orange robes sits near the left-side shrine, and a few people are scattered in the background, consistent with a homa or pada-puja gathering.2010-08-09July 28 20102010-07-28 +1 copiesA tall tapering wooden or pillar-like post rises against a pale blue sky, topped with a dark crowned or lamp-like finial glowing orange at its tip. A dark sloped roof with exposed structural trusses sits below it at the lower right, with a small finial on its ridge. Palm fronds frame the left edge. The scene is backlit and silhouetted, with no people visible.2017-01-01
