Behind it, shallow rainwater pools lie among pale granite boulders and scrubby green bushes under an overcast sky. A lone figure in a light shirt and dark trousers walks along the rocks in the distance. Yellow marigold flowers and green leaves are placed on the lingam and the base, and two brown coconuts rest beside the pedestal. A stripe of yellow-and-red cloth is tied around the lingam. Further along the rocks, similar lingams on pedestals stand in the distance. No people are visible.2006-10-01A black stone shivalingam on a square yoni-pitha base is being bathed with water poured from a golden pot held by a person in white garments at upper right, with a thin stream visible. Red and orange flower petals and a red flower rest on top of the lingam, and yellow and white flower petals line the base. A small brass oil lamp with a cobra-hooded handle burns in front. Behind, a golden murti of a deity in orange and red sits near brass plates of offerings and food, and a second black lingam stands at left beside a golden vessel. This looks like an abhishekam ritual.2016-12-18December 18 20162016-12-18Close-up photo of a black stone Shiva lingam on a square black yoni-pitha base, decorated with flower petals in orange, red and yellow, and a small brass oil lamp with a brass ritual vessel beside it. Water or milk is being poured from a golden spout held by a person in white clothing at the upper right, arcing over the lingam. Behind it a second dark lingam stands on a base, with brass pots and a deity murti in orange and red on a tray of flowers and offerings. This appears to be an abhishekam being performed. No people are clearly visible beyond the white-clad arm and hand.2016-12-18December 05 20162016-12-05A close view of a black stone Shiva lingam standing on a dark circular yoni pedestal, decorated with white and pink flower petals scattered around its base. A brass or metal capped top sits on the lingam. Beside it, a red-bordered cloth holds brass cups, a brass plate of flower petals and offerings, and a small figure of a deity murti. A person in white clothing sits at the left edge with a bare foot visible. A thin incense stick is visible near the lingam, and the scene is outdoors against a red wall.2016-12-19December 23 20162016-12-23
