The rangoli suggests a festive or ritual setting.2006-12-31A photograph of a floor kolam, a ground-drawn rangoli, on a dark concrete floor in front of a wall painted with red and white vertical stripes. The kolam is a symmetrical white-line design with lotus blossoms in magenta and purple, yellow-orange petals, teal leaves, and red dots, centred on a purple lotus motif. A green and white cloth hangs along the top of the wall, and a small portion of a person in white clothing is visible at the upper right edge.2010-12-22A white rangoli kolam drawn in powdered chalk on a grey stone floor, forming an intricate interlaced geometric pattern with loops and petals arranged in concentric rings. At the centre, a cluster of yellow marigold petals and a red flower surrounds a small red-and-maroon blossom, with scattered yellow flowers and red petals around the outer edge. No people are visible; the scene is a floor design only.2009-12-16A white chalk kolam drawn on a pale concrete floor, with a symmetrical floral design of looping curves, petals and a central star-like flower radiating outward. Dappled shadows of a railing or branches fall across the upper part of the ground. The pattern is complete and no people are visible.2014-02-02
