The base of the pole is wrapped with dry straw and green leaves and has carved stonework adorned with white and red flower strings. A banner strip hangs at the upper left corner.

Backlit outdoor photograph under a bright sky with palm fronds and trees. In the foreground at left, a tall wooden pillar or ratha-like structure is draped with red and white garlands. A bare-chested man with a rudraksha mala around his neck raises one arm toward the sun while holding a long white cloth rope that hangs down beside him. Other people are only partly visible at the lower right edge. The scene suggests a festival procession or temple ritual, with the figure gripping the rope near the decorated pillar.
