Night outdoor gathering on bare ground beside a large open fire pit, with flames rising at the lower right. A crowd of many people sits in rows on the earth, mostly women and some men, dressed largely in white with some in orange, red, green and yellow saris and shawls. Several seated devotees hold small brass plates or cups in front of them. Mats in purple and green patterns lie at the lower left. Behind the crowd, figures in white and yellow stand near a tree and a small stage with a loudspeaker, and electric lights glow in the distance. The scene suggests a homa or fire ritual with participants seated in meditation or prayer, though no specific figure is clearly identifiable as a person.

Night photograph of a dark open ground lit by a few bright floodlights and the windows of multi-storey buildings in the background. A large crowd of people, many in dark clothing, walks along a paved path in a loose procession. Several figures near the left wear red or orange garments and white dhoti-style clothing, and a lit illuminated float or chariot is visible at the far right edge. Bamboo poles stand along the field to the right. Most people are silhouetted and indistinct, so an exact count is not possible.
