Night procession on a golden, flower-garlanded ratha or palanquin lit by a bright lamp. A seated man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban, wearing an orange shawl, a rudraksha-style bead mala and a gold necklace, sits on the decorated seat, probable Swamiji by his orange turban, saffron robes, beads and gold adornments, appearing as a passenger. A young attendant in white on the right holds up an ornate brass lamp or ritual object, and another attendant in white stands at left near garlands. Marigold and red flower garlands drape the canopy and carriage, and a blue cloth hangs on the right side.2013-01-01January 01 20132013-01-01 +1 copiesJanuary 01 20132013-01-01January 1st 2013A night procession at a decorated palanquin, lit by warm lamps and bordered by flower garlands in orange and yellow. A standing figure in the central frame wears an orange turban and ornate garland, appearing to be a person on the palanquin, with appearance-based cues (turban and garlanded ornaments) but the face is too dark and small to confirm identity. Gold ceremonial umbrellas and dark silhouettes of onlookers surround the scene. Strings of marigolds and tassels hang from the golden carriage structure.2013-01-01Night procession on an ornate golden ratha chariot lit by warm lamps. A seated figure in orange robes sits on a red-cushioned golden throne, with a flower garland of orange, yellow, red and purple blossoms draped over the seat. Beside him stands a small deity murti in orange cloth, also garlanded with marigolds. Several white-clad attendants wearing green sashes walk alongside and push the chariot, while a figure in orange stands at the left edge. Above, a striped cloth canopy and string lights frame the scene, and an orange draped backdrop with a decorative white motif sits behind the platform.2010-12-30January 03 20162016-01-03January 13 20152015-01-13A night-time procession photograph showing a gilded ratha or palanquin carrying a decorated deity murti, its figure draped in layered garlands of yellow, green and red flowers with a gold-trimmed canopy behind. Two attendants stand at the side: one in white dhoti and shawl holding a white chamara fan, and another in orange and gold-striped cloth with a saffron turban, holding a white fan. Dark trees frame the scene and a few partially visible people stand at the bottom edge of the frame.2015-02-03March 07 20162016-03-07A dimly lit night procession scene with a decorated palanquin or ratha covered in marigold garlands and red and orange flower strings. At the centre stands a figure of a bearded man with an orange turban and an orange sash, dressed in ornate beaded necklaces, seemingly a statue or murti on the vehicle. To the right a priest in white dhoti and white upper cloth holds a long-handled fan or chamara and a small ritual object. Two silhouetted people in the foreground watch from below, and a metal lamp glows near the base of the palanquin.February 12 20132013-02-12
