A large crowd of devotees, mostly dressed in white with some in red and blue, sits on the ground in rows facing a shrine on the right. Orange and saffron pennants with a crescent emblem hang from the roof, and tall decorated pillars stand along the hall. On the right, a priest in white stands near a lit oil lamp and a deity murti adorned with garlands. A figure in orange robes sits near the shrine area, and an orange-shawled man stands at the right edge beside a black bag. Oil lamps and a dim night sky complete the scene.2006-12-31December 30 20092009-12-30Evening outdoor ceremony at Sri Ananda Temple, with white fairy lights strung along the roofline and a garlanded central shrine. A framed portrait of a smiling saffron-robed figure with an orange turban sits on a decorated stand in front, and a picture is shown on the right banner panel. A robed priest in orange sits on a raised platform beside the lit shrine, while about two dozen devotees in white clothes, some in pink or orange saris, sit cross-legged on the ground holding offering trays with oil lamps and flowers. Flames burn in small red lamps in the foreground. Flanking the stage are deity murtis, and an ornate golden throne with red cushions stands at the right.2009-12-30Evening ritual in an open-sided pavilion decorated with green garland swags, hanging orange and white tassels, and rows of string lights. Priests in white dhotis sit cross-legged at a central altar draped in red-and-white striped cloth, with brass vessels and offerings in front of a decorated deity murti backdrop. At the right, a figure in orange robes stands beside a red-cushioned throne-like seat occupied by a person in blue and gold attire. Seated devotees in white and yellow sarees and dhotis fill the floor in front, facing the altar.2010-10-15 +1 copiesAugust 09 20072007-08-09Night-time outdoor ceremony under a corrugated metal roof strung with lights and banana-leaf decorations. Dozens of devotees sit on the ground in the foreground, their backs to the camera. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand in a loose group near the centre, and one man in saffron/orange robes stands among them. Two ornate decorated palanquin-style structures with gold and red canopies stand near the middle of the space, and a figure in orange clothing stands beside one of them. A large screen on the left shows a colourful graphic, and a dark wooden platform with a maroon cloth draped over it is at the left edge.2016-03-06 +1 copiesEvening outdoor puja under a canopy at an ashram-style venue, with a large crowd seated on the ground in white, cream, green and orange clothing. Smoke rises from a fire pit at left, and several priests in white dhotis sit behind a golden-canopied altar with yellow marigold garlands and banana leaves. A seated figure in saffron-coloured clothing on a red throne at right, with a visible crown-like headdress, appears to be presiding over the ritual; this is an appearance-based probable identification only. Behind the altar stand deity murtis decorated with garlands, and strings of coloured lights hang overhead.2016-12-02December 02 20162016-12-02December 31 20062006-12-31Night outdoor ritual before a large crowd seated on mats. Behind a red-draped platform, a seated figure in a red chair is at the centre of the stage, with a garlanded deity murti and a tall gold-framed canopy behind him. Shirtless priests in white dhotis attend the platform and handle kalasha-like vessels set with yellow flowers. Devotees in white, pastel and saree-style clothing fill the foreground, many women with hair up. A cameraman with a tripod stands at left. Banana plants and marigold garlands decorate the stage, consistent with an abhishekam-style puja. The seated figure shows no distinctive visible cues such as saffron robes, a crown or rudraksha malas, so his identity is uncertain.2016-12-02
