April 30 20132013-04-30March 26 20132013-03-26A photograph of a shaved-headed young priest in an orange saffron shawl seated among boys in red and orange robes, several with white sacred ash stripes on their foreheads and arms. The central man wears a red bindi, a long rudraksha mala and gold bangles, and holds a lit oil lamp in his right hand while speaking and gesturing outward. Behind him, boys in red garments sit cross-legged, some holding brass items, in what looks like a ritual or teaching gathering.2013-09-23A central man in an orange saffron shawl over bare shoulders wears a long rudraksha mala and white horizontal tilak on his forehead, holding a small brass lamp with a lit flame in his raised right hand. Behind him, rows of young boys in maroon robes with gold trim sit cross-legged on a floor, many with white tilak and some holding small brass vessels, during what appears to be a ritual gathering.2013-06-08A shaved-headed young man in an orange saffron robe and a long rudraksha mala holds a small brass oil lamp in his right hand, with a red kumkum dot and white vibhuti stripes on his forehead and arms. Around him, several boys in red-maroon robes with white forehead markings sit close together, some holding small brass oil lamps and one wearing a rudraksha necklace. Behind them, people in white clothing sit with hands folded. The setting appears to be a hall with a red carpet, consistent with a lamp-lighting ritual during a gathering. The man's appearance is not sufficient to confirm the identity of any named teacher, so his role is described as a sannyasi-style participant.2013-10-30June 08 20132013-06-08June 08 20132013-06-08Several young boys seated closely together in saffron-orange robes, their heads shaved and foreheads marked with white vibhuti stripes, hold up small brass oil lamps with lit flames during a puja. Some wear rudraksha malas around their necks, and one boy in the foreground holds a brass bell. Offerings and brass vessels sit on a low table below. The background shows a plain hall with a red curtain and a red chair.2013-04-24April 10 20132013-04-10April 02 20132013-04-02 +1 copiesA large group of men in saffron-orange and maroon robes sit cross-legged on a floor during a ritual, many holding small brass oil lamps with lit flames. Several wear rudraksha and beaded malas, and many have white sacred ash marks on their foreheads and arms. A plate and small bowls sit in front of them. Behind them stand more seated participants and red curtains line the hall. No clearly identifiable a person figure is evident in the frame, so no candidate is marked.2014-04-18Boys and young men in saffron-orange robes sit cross-legged on a floor during a ritual gathering. In the foreground a shaved-headed boy in orange with a white forehead band holds a small oil lamp in cupped hands, eyes lowered. Brass puja trays with white flowers, a small brass lamp, and a copper-toned stand sit before them. Behind, seated devotees in orange and red garments hold lamps and offerings, and one man in white and gold at upper right raises a lamp. A green leaf and offering plates are visible on the lower left. The scene suggests a puja or aarti practice with lamps and flower offerings.2013-04-29
