The foreground boy, with a shaved head and white vertical tilak on his forehead, wears an orange robe, red-trimmed shawl and a dark rudraksha-style bead mala, and holds a brass kalasha-like vessel in one hand and a brass bell in the other. Behind him, other boys in orange robes with white forehead markings sit with their hands clasped or resting on laps. Brass oil lamps with lit wicks, brass bowls, white flowers and small offerings are arranged on the table in front. Red-curtained windows and a white wall form the background. The scene appears to be a puja or abhishekam-style ritual performed by young sannyasi students.2013-04-10
