Two men in white ritual dhotis with yellow borders and rudraksha malas stand outdoors against a blurred green background. The man on the left, with a shaved head and a red tilak, looks down and holds a brass-rimmed bowl with a leaf plate containing small food offerings, possibly prasadam. The man on the right, with short hair and a red bindi, faces the camera with a closed-mouth expression, bare-shouldered beneath his white shawl. Other blurred figures in white and red stand behind them.2011-12-06A photograph of three bare-chested men standing before a bright orange wall at an outdoor ritual. The man in the centre holds a small silver oil lamp with a lit flame in his right hand, a dark wrap draped over his left shoulder and a heavy gold bead necklace. The man on the left wears a similar gold bead necklace and a yellow-and-orange cloth at his waist, and the man on the right wears a rudraksha-style bead mala, a gold pendant, a pink-and-red shawl and white dhoti. Their chests bear faint marks. Greenery stands at the left edge. A small microphone is visible near the centre man's collar.2016-07-18August 02 20162016-08-02A man in a rust-orange sannyasi-style wrap with gold border and a gold-bead necklace walks toward the viewer across a paved courtyard, with a white-clad attendant behind him carrying a tray. The man has a white horizontal tilak and a red dot on his forehead. A red woven mat lies in the foreground beside a brick wall and trees. The man's appearance shows several cues such as the saffron-orange robe, ornate gold necklace and forehead markings, but identity remains uncertain from appearance alone, so he is described by role as a sannyasi-clad man and the white-clad attendant is a priest or assistant. In front are black stone lingams with flowers and small offerings placed on top. The foreground man has curly dark hair, is bare-chested in a white dhoti with a gold border, and wears a rudraksha mala and a bronze bracelet. Behind him a woman in white with gold jewellery, and two more men in white dhotis, one with a brown shawl, sit in prayer. Further back, other people in white clothes sit on the steps. No one in the frame is clearly identifiable as a person, so no candidate is recorded.2016-12-03Four men walk barefoot along a sandy beach at the water's edge, with pale surf rolling in behind them under a hazy sky. The man in the centre has long dark hair swept back and a full beard and wears a rust-orange saffron wrap with a long orange sash. To his left a younger man in a white dhoti and shawl with yellow-gold borders and a rudraksha mala walks gazing toward the sea. On the right a shaven-headed man in an orange dhoti with gold border touches his forehead, and at the far right edge another man in white with gold borders carries sandals. Appearance-based candidate: a person for the long-haired, bearded figure in orange, who walks in the centre of the group; the cues are long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha beads on the group.2016-10-19January 02 20162016-01-02January 11 20172017-01-11Outdoor temple ritual beside a stone-edged water tank at a temple. In the centre, a man in a rust-red robe with a long rudraksha mala and a white forehead mark walks along the stone path. Beside him, a bare-chested attendant in an orange cloth carries a brass plate of flowers and leaves, and a white-clad man walks at right near the water. Behind them, a row of people in white and orange clothing stand on the steps, many with hands folded. Several stone shivalinga stand on square bases at left, with a brass pot and kalasha nearby. A tall golden trident is visible above the crowd. The central figure's appearance is not clearly confirmed, so he is described by role only, as a robed devotee leading the procession.2017-05-22 +1 copies
