Two people in saffron and orange robes stand on a metal staircase beside the lingam, one with arms raised, apparently pouring or offering at its top. Along the red-stepped ghat, several people in saffron and orange robes stand or walk, and a group in white sits in rows on the steps. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with orange shawls, stand on the platform and in the water, pouring water and washing the lingam; one man in the water holds a long wooden pole. Water sprays up on the left. Behind, a crowd of white-clad people sits on striped red and white steps along the pool edge, with orange bunting strung across trees and a stone-lined embankment on the right.2009-01-02October 22 20142014-10-22 +1 copiesJanuary 02 20092009-01-02A large black stone Shiva lingam stands in a shallow pool of water, garlanded with flower strands of orange, yellow and purple, with water spraying from its base. Several people in saffron-orange robes stand on a platform at its foot, with one figure in a red-orange robe and a flower garland in the centre. Behind them, men in white dhotis and white shirts walk along a white and red striped stepped embankment, with orange festival bunting strung across the grounds and bare trees on the left. Colourful balloons float at the lower left and people wade in the water.2009-01-02Large black Shiva lingam with a gold-edged yoni-pitha base stands in a water-filled tank before a red-brick multi-storey building. Several saffron-robed priests in orange dhotis attend the lingam, pouring from pots and handling vessels at its base. Above, figures stand on a platform at the top of the lingam, and a yellow canopy sits behind it. A gilded throne-like seat with red cushions holds a white-clad figure seated in front of the lingam. Rows of small lamps line the red tiered wall behind, and red-and-yellow flags fly along the railings. Water and offerings are arranged around the base.2017-09-11January 02 20092009-01-02
