Outdoor photograph beneath leafy trees showing a man with bare upper body and a green silk dhoti-style garment with gold border standing with palms pressed together in prayer, eyes closed, facing a shrine. The shrine has a white arched stone frame enclosing a dark stone deity murti dressed in an orange cloth and garlanded with orange and yellow marigold strings. A heap of red kumkum or powder lies at the base in front. The man has a forehead marking and his hair is tied up. A second figure is partly visible at the right edge. The setting appears to be an open-air shrine in greenery.2011-09-14A man in orange saffron garments with a bare upper torso stands at right in prayer, palms pressed together at chest level with eyes closed. He wears silver beaded necklaces and silver bangles on his arms, and his hair is swept back into a bun. Beside him, a black stone deity murti stands in a white arched shrine framed by a green cloth backdrop and garlands of yellow and purple flowers, with a red cloth draped over its head and shoulders and a gold necklace. Trees surround the outdoor shrine, and red offerings lie at its base.2011-11-19A man with long dark hair stands in profile on the right, hands pressed together in namaskar with eyes closed, facing a black stone deity murti in an arched white niche draped with green cloth and marigold garlands. He wears a bare chest, rudraksha beads, gold bangles, a peach-orange shawl and a light gold-bordered dhoti. A red cloth and red-smeared offerings sit at the base of the shrine, with trees and sunlit ground behind. Swamiji appearance-based cues are present (long swept-back hair, rudraksha malas, ornate gold jewellery and saffron-toned clothing), so the praying man is a probable Swamiji in devotional posture before the shrine.2011-11-20 +1 copiesA man with long swept-back dark hair stands outdoors in a wooded area, palms pressed together in prayer at his chest, eyes lowered. He is bare-chested, wearing a peach-coloured dhoti and a matching draped shawl edged in gold, with a beaded necklace and gold armlet. Before him is a black stone deity murti seated in a white arched niche, draped with a red cloth and garlanded with yellow and red flowers, with a green backdrop behind it. A large heap of red offerings lies in front of the shrine among trees and dry ground. The man's appearance with long hair, gold adornments and draped peach clothing is a compatible presentation, so this may be a person, shown in devotional prayer before the deity.2011-11-20December 29 20112011-12-29Outdoor photograph of a man in white ritual dress with a red-bordered cloth worn over one shoulder and draped at the waist, standing bare-chested with palms pressed together in namaskar before a black stone deity murti with multiple arms. The murti sits in a white arched shrine framed by a yellow-orange cloth backdrop, with a green sash and garland, on a base heaped with red flowers and small brass items. Trees and dappled greenery fill the background. The man wears gold beaded bracelets and a beaded necklace and has his hair tied in a bun. He wears a maroon dhoti with orange-gold borders, an orange-gold shawl over one shoulder, gold armlet and bracelet, and a beaded neck mala, with hands folded in front in prayer and eyes closed. Behind him a dark stone deity murti in orange cloth, a green curtain and garlands of marigolds sits within an ornate silver arch, before a mound of red kumkum and small brass lamps on a black stone platform. A red and white mat lies on the ground in the foreground.2012-04-04December 29 20112011-12-29A man in an orange saffron shawl stands with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, eyes lowered, in front of a black stone deity murti draped in yellow cloth with a green backdrop, set within a white carved arched shrine niche in an outdoor grove of trees. Red flower offerings lie at the base of the murti. The man has his hair tied up in a knot and is shown from the side in profile, appearing in prayer or darshan. Appearance cues are limited to saffron clothing and a topknot, which are not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so he is described by role as a devotee in prayer.2011-12-28A photograph of a man standing barefoot on a dark polished floor in front of a shrine under a banyan tree. He wears a green striped dhoti with a gold-bordered waist cloth and a green-and-gold shawl draped over his bare shoulders, with a rudraksha mala around his neck and his hair tied in a bun. His hands are pressed together in anjali mudra, and he faces a black stone deity murti seated in yellow cloth, garlanded with yellow and red flowers, within a white arched niche backed by green drapery. In front stands a pile of red kumkum-covered stones and a small offering vessel. No visible identity cue for the man beyond the attire; his role is devotee in prayer.2011-09-03 +2 copiesA standing man in saffron-orange robes with bare shoulder and arm, hands pressed together in namaste before a dark stone deity murti in an arched silver-framed shrine. The murti wears a pink cloth, garlands of yellow and green flowers, and a red beaded necklace. Behind it hangs an orange patterned cloth. A heap of red-painted stones or vermilion-coated lingams surrounds the base, with a small brass lamp and offering vessels at the right.
