A photograph of a darshan setting. A smiling man on the left wears a maroon-red turban with a green leaf and a small white plume, a maroon-red draped garment, a heavy gold necklace, gold armband and earring, and extends his hand toward devotees. Two men in white shirts with shoulder straps stand in the foreground, one bowing or leaning forward with hair tied in a bun, while a bald man and a woman in a white sari with red border watch from the right. A tray of offerings is visible at lower left.2013-12-19A smiling man in a red-brown silk dhoti and wrap with gold borders stands beside a white-haired elderly man in a white shirt who bows forward with his hands together. The standing man wears an ornate gold-and-red headpiece, a long rudraksha mala draped to his waist, and silver arm bands, and has a red bindi on his forehead. Behind them a gold-trimmed throne with a red cushion and a gold kalasha-like ornament is visible, with a white wall and a green plant at left.2013-12-13Indoor event in a hall with ceiling lights and a curtain behind. A man in a cream turban and maroon robe, with a rudraksha mala and gold ornaments, smiles while placing his hand on the forehead of a bearded man in an orange top who has his palms pressed together. The man in the turban wears a red bindi and a cream sash. Around them, several people stand with hands folded in anjali, including a bald man in orange and a man in a white garment at right. Appearance-based candidate: Swamiji (probable), shown in person in the turban and maroon robe with rudraksha mala and gold ornaments, blessing a devotee.2011-12-29November 02 20132013-11-02A photograph of an indoor event hall with beige wall panels and a dark curtain. A smiling person in a rust-red wrapped garment, bare-shouldered, with a red-and-gold turban topped by white plumes, a gold ceremonial necklace with a large pendant, gold armlets and bangles, stands at right, reaching toward a wooden tray of small round fruits held by a seated young person in a navy shirt and glasses. A shaven-headed monk in saffron robes sits behind them, and another person in red stands at the left edge. Cues are present for a person given the turban, plumes, ornate gold necklace, armlets and rust-red clothing, but appearance is only partly distinctive.2013-12-21A photograph of a ritual blessing in an indoor hall with cream walls and red curtains. A bare-chested figure in rust-brown wrap and a brown turban with gold trim, wearing a rudraksha mala, presses his hand to the forehead of a young man in a white shirt whose palms are joined in anjali. The young man keeps his eyes lowered. Behind them a second man in white dhoti and shawl with rudraksha beads kneels, and two men in white shirts stand in the background. The figure in rust-brown and turban shows distinctive ceremonial cues, so the appearance-based candidate is a person as the blessing giver.2013-11-04Indoor photo of a man in a cream turban and maroon silk garment with gold border, wearing multiple rudraksha mala necklaces and beaded bracelets, raising his hand toward a crowd of devotees. Several men in front, one in a white-and-black striped shirt, lean forward with palms pressed together in namaskar. Behind them, a man in saffron-orange robes and another with a shaved head stand in a bright hall with colourful decorations.2011-12-29November 07 20132013-11-07A photograph of a ritual blessing in an indoor hall with cream walls and red curtains. A seated figure in a rust-orange wrap and an orange turban with gold trim, with a rudraksha mala and gold necklace, places one hand on the forehead of a kneeling man in a white polo shirt. Another person in white ritual dress with a bead mala assists beside an open wooden box holding fruit and puja items. Several women in saris stand in the background, one in white with a mala. A gilded object is visible at the lower left. Appearance cues are not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so the seated figure is described by role as a priest giving a blessing.2013-11-04December 13 20132013-12-13Indoor hall scene where a person in a brown-orange draped garment with a gold-toned cloth, a brown-orange turban with a gold ornament, a long gold bead necklace, gold bangles and armbands raises a hand in blessing toward a devotee. The devotee in a green-and-maroon striped shirt with brown beads and orange wristband presses palms together in anjali, and a man in white kurta with rudraksha beads stands nearby with head bowed. Other devotees in white and a few people in orange clothing stand behind metal stanchions. In the background a golden deity murti and a red curtain with floral decoration are visible, and a white ceiling with recessed lights and a projector screen completes the room. This is an appearance-based candidate who is physically present, with distinctive turban, ornate gold jewellery and orange-brown clothing; the identification is probable only from appearance, not from the face.2013-11-05December 29 20112011-12-29
