August 11 20092009-08-11A photograph of a person in a home shrine room lighting an oil lamp. The person, seen from behind, wears a sleeveless saffron-orange garment, has long dark hair, and is wearing a red and pink flower garland. Holding a brass oil lamp with a lit flame in one hand, they face a wall hung with framed pictures decorated with yellow marigold garlands and pink flowers. One framed image shows a deity in red and gold, and another shows figures in orange robes beside a seated figure. A small wooden table holds a yellow book, a brass bell, and a small lamp with a red flame. Part of another person in orange cloth is visible at the left edge.2010-02-17January 03 20122012-01-03January 03 20122012-01-03A photograph inside a home shrine with a dark wooden wall panel. A figure in saffron-orange sleeveless robes wearing a long white flower garland with green leaves holds a brass oil lamp with a lit flame toward a large framed picture of a golden deity murti in an arch, with a red background, garlanded with pink and white flowers. Below, smaller framed deity images are decorated with garlands, and a framed photograph in a garland sits at the lower right. To the left, another person in orange robes stands with palms pressed together in prayer near a window. Brass dishes and a small lamp rest on the stone ledge. The shrine picture is a deity murti, so the scene is a devotional lamp offering. The figure with the lamp has long dark hair, orange clothing, a white garland and a sheer orange wrap, consistent with a person presentation, while the person praying at left is a devotee.2010-02-16January 23 20102010-01-23February 02 20102010-02-02January 03 20122012-01-03January 03 20122012-01-03A photograph inside a home shrine room with white walls and a white arched niche decorated with green mango-leaf festoons. A woman in an orange sari wears a white and red flower garland and holds her hands over a flame, while a young man in orange robes holds a lit lamp toward the shrine. A bald man in orange sits in the foreground near a brass tray of pink flowers and fruit. Framed deity pictures hang on the niche, including a Venkateswara-style image with a gold frame and flower garlands, and a painted child deity on a side wall scroll. A glass display cabinet holds brass and steel vessels, and fruit and offerings sit on a table at left. A man with folded hands stands at the right edge.2010-01-10February 05 20102010-02-05January 03 20122012-01-03
