A photograph inside a small wooden-framed shrine alcove. A woman in an orange sari with a red-and-orange flower garland lights a lamp from a flame at a framed devotional picture, while a second woman in orange kneels in the foreground. A foreground figure joins palms in anjali. The shrine holds framed deity pictures, a golden murti, brass plates, lamps, and flower offerings on a wooden ledge. Two women and one partially visible hand are the physical people present, with the framed pictures showing a trio of figures in traditional dress.

A photograph of a small home shrine viewed through a wooden arched doorway. A sannyasi in saffron-orange robes with a long red-and-white flower garland and rudraksha mala is lighting an oil lamp at the shrine while holding a small vessel. Framed prints of deities hang on the pale yellow wall, with brass lamps and small figures on a ledge. In the foreground, two devotees in white and dark clothing stand with palms pressed together in namaskar, their backs to the camera.

A photograph of a person in a home shrine room lighting an oil lamp. The person, seen from behind, wears a sleeveless saffron-orange garment, has long dark hair, and is wearing a red and pink flower garland. Holding a brass oil lamp with a lit flame in one hand, they face a wall hung with framed pictures decorated with yellow marigold garlands and pink flowers. One framed image shows a deity in red and gold, and another shows figures in orange robes beside a seated figure. A small wooden table holds a yellow book, a brass bell, and a small lamp with a red flame. Part of another person in orange cloth is visible at the left edge.

A man in an orange garment with a white flower garland and a white tilak on his forehead lights an oil lamp on a wall shelf, smoke rising from the flame. On the white shelf sits an orange-robed seated statue with a red turban and rudraksha mala, beside framed colourful devotional prints. A brown vase of pink and yellow flowers stands below. A bare-shouldered person in orange and garland is the main actor; another head is partially visible at lower right.

A photo inside a small shrine room with white walls and a barred window. A figure with long dark hair, wearing a white jasmine garland and an orange saffron wrap draped over the body, holds a lit flame in one hand near a small altar. The altar holds a trident-shaped object, marigold and hibiscus flowers, a picture frame, brass lamps and oil lamps, and offerings on a plate. To the right, a bald man in orange clothing stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, wearing a wristwatch and a beaded necklace. The scene suggests a puja or aarti at a household shrine.

Photograph of a home shrine room with framed deity paintings hung on a white wall, several garlanded with yellow and orange flower strands. On a black stone altar sit brass plates of fruit, flowers, a small brass lamp and offering bowls. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand at the altar; the nearer one has long swept-back hair and palms pressed together in prayer, while the other, with long dark hair and a flower garland, holds a lit oil lamp arati over a framed portrait. Their backs and profiles are visible; the nearer man's hand is partly cut off by the frame edge at right.

A small home shrine with a wall-mounted portrait of a long-haired figure in orange robes and a rudraksha mala, a framed deity image, and small brass and stone murtis on a wooden shelf. A person with long dark hair in an orange robe holds a lit oil lamp toward the shrine while a bald man in orange, hands folded in prayer, stands in the foreground at right. A white refrigerator stands at left. Scene suggests aarti at a devotional corner shrine.

A photograph of a small shrine niche in a plain room with grey panelled walls. A person in an orange saffron garment with a white flower garland over the shoulders holds a flaming lamp up toward a trident-like ritual object, with its back partly turned to the camera. Framed photos and deity images are decorated with yellow flowers, marigold garlands and red blossoms, and brass oil lamps and a small plate of offerings sit on the altar ledge. At the left edge, another person in a white shirt stands with hands pressed together in prayer, and a third person's head is visible in the foreground. The scene appears to be an aarti at a home shrine.
