October 08 20072007-10-08October 08 20072007-10-08A close overhead view of a puja being performed on a white tiled floor with colourful striped woven mats. Several brass plates hold red and pink flower petals, small brass bowls, a copper water bottle, a small brass lamp and oil lamps with lit wicks. Three people sit cross-legged and lean in: one bare-armed man with a beaded bracelet picks up an offering from a plate, another in a white dhoti with gold border kneels nearby, and a third in a white-sleeved outfit with a rudraksha mala is partly visible at the right. Lit diyas glow along the floor, and a white conch-shaped item sits on a small plate.2017-01-22A photograph of a Shiva lingam ritual at a temple. A priest in white dhoti and white shirt kneels at lower left, pouring from a brass vessel onto a golden shiva lingam set on a square stone base. Behind, a large white and gold-bordered cloth backdrop is draped with red and yellow flower garlands, and scattered rose petals lie on the floor. Only the priest's torso and legs are visible, with orange cloth at the edges of the frame. The priest's face is not visible, so no identification is made.2007-10-08August 29 20092009-08-29A photograph of a padapuja ritual. A person in white clothing and a red-beaded wrist band holds a silver plate with flower petals and a silver spoon-like vessel, pouring or offering over bare feet resting on a golden-brown ornate platform. The feet belong to a figure in saffron-orange robes wearing a multi-coloured beaded necklace; their face is not visible. Pink and red rose petals scatter across the silver plate and gilded base. Another person's arm, adorned with a silver bangle, reaches in from the left. A small brass dish of kumkum or vermilion sits at the left edge.2009-09-07November 20 20112011-11-20October 02 20132013-10-02November 20 20112011-11-20Close photograph of a padapuja ritual.
