A man in a grey short-sleeved shirt, maroon checked lungi and white head wrap crouches barefoot on a concrete platform, smoothing wet grey mortar along the edge of a stepped structure with a long wooden float. A trowel lies on the ground beside him and a shallow metal tray of mortar sits at left. Behind him, a woman in a white sari and a girl in magenta and a girl in green stand near brass pots and a green plastic bottle, and a black Shiva linga adorned with yellow and orange marigold garlands sits on a white pedestal in the background. The scene is a kara seva labour offering at an outdoor shrine site.2008-02-23A man in a grey t-shirt, maroon checked lungi and white head cloth crouches on a concrete platform, smoothing wet grey mortar along the edge of a square, stepped concrete structure with a dark recessed pit. The worker, wearing a light blue t-shirt and a dark patterned lungi, uses one hand to smooth or trace a shallow shape into the edge of the step. A shallow stone bowl holds grey wet cement mortar, and a small stone block sits in the lower foreground. Only one partly visible person is present, and no a person candidate is visible.2008-03-22December 19 20062006-12-19A photograph of ashram construction work at an unfinished concrete building. In the foreground, a man in a checked shirt and grey trousers bends over a patch of wet grey concrete, troweling it with a small hand tool. A woman in a red headscarf and maroon sari stands behind him. A long wooden-handled tool leans against the wall to the left. Beyond the doorway, a sandy path runs between palm trees, with a few children and a stone sculpture visible in the distance.2007-05-21A photograph of a construction site at an outdoor compound. A flight of concrete steps made of grey blocks leads up toward a higher level, with unfinished grey concrete surface on the top steps. Two men in work clothes are bent over at the base of the steps, one in a light teal shirt and dark trousers, the other in a white shirt, apparently working on the stonework. A white wall with red and white horizontal stripes stands to the right beside a rough stone pillar. A corrugated metal roofed shed is on the left, with a blue plastic drum, scattered bricks and rubble, and a white plastic chair. A large leafy tree stands behind, under a clear blue sky.2007-05-19A construction site with red earth where workers are building with concrete blocks. In the foreground a woman in an orange sari with a pink-and-white blouse walks at left carrying a metal pan. Beside her, a woman in a lime-green sari with a light blue head wrap and shawl stands on the ground near a pan of mortar. A man in a white shirt and blue lungi bends forward, working mortar with a trowel. Behind them, women carry metal basins of material on their heads, and stacks of grey concrete blocks and gravel are piled around the site. No identifiable portrait or depiction of a person is visible in this scene.2008-04-10A construction site on red earth with workers laying concrete blocks along a string-guided line. In the foreground, a man in a light blue shirt and a man in a tan shirt bend to place blocks, while others carry blocks and stand nearby, including a shirtless worker in a white dhoti and a woman in a red-and-white sari. Thatched open-sided sheds and palm trees stand in the background. On the right edge, a figure with long swept-back dark hair wears a bright saffron-orange shawl with a visible saffron-orange garment, consistent with an appearance-based probable candidate for a person present in person, standing at the edge of the frame.Outdoor construction site where workers lay grey stone paving blocks along a sandy strip beside red-painted steps and potted plants. Five men work in simple clothes: one in a striped green shirt and checked lungi bends over the stones, another in a white shirt and red headband marks the edge with a tool, and a man in an orange top and green headwear places stone. Piles of rebar and rubble lie to the left, with a fence and small trees behind.2009-12-17 +1 copiesApril 24 20132013-04-24July 20 20092009-07-20
