October 05 20132013-10-05July 29 20132013-07-29Night-time scene at an outdoor work area with an open fire burning on a dirt floor. Two men in white dhotis bend low over earthen clay moulds and sand, one using a long-handled tool to work the ground. A bare-chested man in a red-orange cloth stands at left, and several other men in white shirts, lungis and dhotis, plus a boy in a red shirt, watch from behind. A bright lamp hangs on the building wall and a dark doorway with a small sign is at right. The activity resembles preparation for casting clay or metal forms, with no clearly visible deity figure or identifiable ceremony.2013-07-29A photograph of an outdoor ashram courtyard with a brick-lined pit or hearth on sandy ground in front of orange-painted walls and red doors. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts or bare chests crouch around the pit, tending charred material and blackened objects with tools. Behind them a woman in an orange saffron sari with a rudraksha mala stands with hands folded. At the upper right, a figure in orange saffron dhoti and shawl with long hair and multiple rudraksha malas stands beside a red office chair, appearing to observe the work, with a person candidate by appearance. Other people in orange and white stand under a corrugated roof in the background.2013-07-14July 14 20132013-07-14August 02 20082008-08-02July 29 20132013-07-29November 09 20162016-11-09August 31 20152015-08-31Night-time outdoor scene of a metal-casting or smelting operation at a sandy site. Men stand around a glowing crucible set over an open fire, with a long iron rod held by two men at left and right to tilt or steady it. Molten metal glows orange in the crucible while smoke drifts through the frame. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at centre, another in a white shirt kneels at left, and a man in a plaid shirt and white dhoti watches at centre-right. A man in orange-brown dhoti with a beaded necklace bends forward at right. Brick walls form the background.2013-10-05October 05 20132013-10-05A night-time photograph of a fire being tended on bare ground inside an open-sided shed with breeze-block walls and overhead fluorescent lights. A small blaze burns in a shallow brick-and-stone pit, with sparks flying upward. Two men in the foreground hold long iron rods over the fire, and an iron tool with a curved bent handle lies on the ground. Several men in saffron-orange dhoti-style garments with gold borders stand in a row behind the fire, a few with rudraksha beads and one bare-chested figure with a shaved head. A man in a white shirt and a woman in orange sari stand to the right, and a person in white dhoti stands at the left edge. Scattered debris, a wooden cart and an old bench fill the background.2013-09-16
