September 24 20122012-09-24September 29 20062006-09-29Exterior view of a temple complex under construction, with exposed concrete columns, timber scaffolding and a bare brick upper storey rising behind a wide dirt courtyard. A tall yellow-painted pole stands near the left, and a white-domed structure with a pointed tip sits atop the right block. Stone steps lead up to the unfinished entrance. Two small white cars are parked on the left, and a walkway with white pillars runs along the right edge beside tall palm trees. On the left, a young man in a blue shirt carries a bowl on his head while a child in a light top walks beside him, and two women in orange saris stand near the left edge. The scene is a sunny, dusty site.2012-09-24A photograph of a construction site under a wooden bamboo scaffold framework, with an orange umbrella held over a group of people. A man with long swept-back hair, wearing an orange dhoti and a gold-beaded necklace, stands at left under the umbrella. Several saffron-robed sannyasis, some shaved-headed with rudraksha malas, stand among devotees in white dhotis and pink or white shirts. A bent saffron-robed figure in the foreground lays or adjusts wooden poles on the ground. Brick walls, a mountain and white temple structures appear in the background, and the site looks like a temple under construction.2012-09-24A wide outdoor construction site at AadiKailaasa in Bidadi, seen through the dark silhouetted leaves of a tree in the foreground. A rectangular concrete base or platform sits in the centre, with workers in light clothing and some in white around it, while a bamboo scaffold tower rises at right beside coconut palms. Stacked stone blocks, sandy earth, scattered tools and a few distant figures fill the open dry ground under a pale sky. Several people stand near the platform, but the scene is mostly construction work rather than a ritual gathering.2006-12-14May 27 20072007-05-27May 27 20072007-05-27A photograph of an open-sided, unfinished building under a metal roof truss, with concrete block walls partly built and supported by wooden props. Inside, a white plinth holds a dark stone figure of a seated deity murti beneath a tall wooden pole or flagstaff. Coconut palms and greenery stand behind the structure. A green folding chair and potted plants sit in the foreground on a bare concrete floor. No people are visible.2007-03-22A photograph of an unfinished concrete block building under construction. Bamboo poles and wooden beams form a scaffold over an open doorway, with a short flight of concrete steps leading up to it. The walls are whitewashed with bold red vertical stripes at the base, and a corrugated metal roof sits on the right. A tall trident (trishul) stands at the right edge, and a tall palm tree rises behind the structure. No people are visible.2007-03-22December 20 20062006-12-20A photograph of a large temple construction site under a steel-framed roof with red beams and scaffolding. Rows of pale stone pillars with carved capitals line a long hall, and a concrete block wall stands behind them. A small shrine-like table holds a deity murti, a kalasha-like pot, offerings and small items, and a palm tree is visible outside. No people are visible in the frame.2018-02-01December 12 20062006-12-12 +1 copies
