A photograph of a padapuja or aarti-style ritual in an ashram hall. A figure in saffron-orange robes with an orange garland sits on an ornate gold throne with a carved lion head, hands pressed together in greeting. Around a gold tray of brass plates, offerings and lit oil lamps, several devotees in white and cream clothes perform the ritual: a woman in a white top holds a lamp, a woman in a pink top and a girl in a red top are nearby, and a woman in a white sari with a red border holds a plate. A bald man in white in the foreground holds a lamp. A pink-and-gold carved figure with raised arms and weapons stands at right beside orange and red drapes. The person on the throne is an appearance-based a person candidate, seated in the central role of honour with orange garland and saffron robes.
