To the right, a saffron-clad man with a long rudraksha mala holds a brass bowl. A bare-chested man in a white dhoti stands at the far right holding a staff. A woman in blue sari and another in green-bordered sari are prominent; a woman in white sari with a green bag sits at left, and a woman in purple shawl and glasses stands among them. Behind them, more white-clad devotees and dark figures stand near a glowing orange structure, with lamps in the background.2010-11-12July 13 20132013-07-13Night outdoor gathering around a large bonfire with tall orange flames and a wooden frame beneath it. A man in a white shirt and lungi stands at the left edge holding a long pole near the fire. Seated people in a wide circle on a mat and cloth include men in white shirts and dhotis, women in white and in orange-yellow saris, and a child in white. A woman with dark hair and a leopard-print top sits in the foreground with her back to the camera. Pink and white flower garlands lie on a cloth. The scene resembles a homa or fire ritual, though no a person candidate is clearly identifiable.2011-01-14A night-time photograph of a bright fire flaring upward from a vessel held by a man in white clothes at left, his palms pressed together in prayer. Beside him a woman in a cream sari with a red-bordered edge stands with hands folded, and other devotees, some partly in shadow, gather closely around the flame. At right, a man in an orange-yellow shirt with a light forehead mark watches the fire. The scene suggests an outdoor devotional fire offering during a procession, with the warm red and orange glow dominating the frame.2006-10-24
