In the foreground, a shaved-headed man with his back to the camera, bare-shouldered and wearing an orange cloth with white ash markings, holds a ritual object near a lamp-lit ornate lamp stand at the upper left. The seated man wears a saffron-orange robe with gold borders, a rudraksha mala necklace, a red bindi and a bracelet, and smiles with his hands near his chest. In the foreground a shaven-headed priest in an orange-brown dhoti and shawl, seen from behind, holds a lit aarti lamp toward him. To the left stands a painted deity murti with four arms, golden crown and jewellery, and an orange-pink dhoti. Hanging brass lamps are visible above. One seated person and one standing priest are visible, with a deity statue; the seated figure appears to be a person by saffron robe, rudraksha mala and gold-trimmed throne cues, shown in person.2013-05-12August 09 20172017-08-09 +1 copiesOctober 11 20152015-10-11A photograph of a shaven-headed man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, wearing a rudraksha mala, lifting a lit aarti oil lamp in both hands during a ritual in a hall. Behind him stands a gold-and-red throne (peetha) with a golden canopy and an empty seat draped in red, flanked by brass lamp stands, and a decorated deity murti garlanded with flowers and framed in gold. A red curtain and a stage platform form the backdrop. A partially visible bald head appears at the bottom edge. No clear identity cue confirms the lamp-bearer as a person, so the person is described by role only.
