In the foreground a man in a white shirt, white dhoti and a red-and-white striped head cloth stands beside a low wall of grey concrete blocks, with a trowel resting on the cement top course. Behind him another worker in a light shirt lays blocks on a taller wall of grey concrete blocks, and a figure in a red shirt stands near a sand pile at right. Steel reinforcement rods rise at the centre, and a red car, a blue vehicle and an auto-rickshaw are parked in the background among trees and low buildings.2008-05-14A construction site at a temple compound with a partially built concrete block wall with crenellated tops. Several men work on the ground in front of it: two monastics in saffron-orange robes and shawls bend over a low work area with bowls and rubble, a man in a blue and white checked shirt and beige trousers stands nearby, another man in a white shirt and dhoti gestures with an arm raised, a man in a red-and-pink checked shirt watches, and a man in grey shirt and checked lungi stands at right. Loose cut stones lie scattered across the ground, with metal basins and rubble behind them.2009-10-15Three workmen are plastering the base of a pale grey concrete block wall at an outdoor construction site on bare red-brown earth. The man in the centre, wearing a striped shirt and grey trousers, crouches low with a trowel at the wall's base. Another man in a peach shirt and grey trousers walks past, and a man in a white shirt and dark trousers holds a metal tray of mortar at right. A metal pan and sandbags lie on the ground, and a white building with blue doors and yellow flowering shrubs stands in the background.2009-09-07A construction worker in a white short-sleeved shirt, blue lungi and a pink-and-white checked head wrap leans over a concrete block wall, pouring or smoothing water from a small metal vessel onto the courses. Cinder blocks and red-brown earth lie around the site, with wooden scaffolding and green trees behind. No a person candidate is visible; the scene shows a single worker at the building site.2006-11-16A photograph of a building under construction at dusk, showing concrete block walls partly built around exposed rebar columns. Four workers are visible: a man in a white head wrap and light shirt carrying a wooden plank on the left, a man in a red cap and olive shirt sitting on a plank, a man in a white cap and checked shirt standing on a scaffold at right holding a wall, and a man in a light shirt sitting at the bottom right near a mixing tray. Wooden scaffold poles and planks surround the walls, and a trowel-worked mortar tray sits on the scaffold at right.2009-10-31A construction site outdoors where workers are mixing mortar on bare earth beside a small concrete structure. A man in a white shirt, grey trousers and a green head cloth pours cement from a blue woven sack onto a heap of reddish sand. Beside him a worker in a purple checked top, green lungi and white head wrap bends over the pile with gloved hands. On the right an older man in a cream shirt and blue-striped dhoti stands watching, and another person in an orange shirt stands further back. A black hose runs across the ground, and white buildings, trees and a red metal railing sit in the background. Stacked concrete blocks lean against a wooden frame at right.A photograph of an outdoor construction site with workers laying grey stone slabs into a trench of reddish-brown soil. In the foreground a man in a beige shirt and light trousers bends down holding a stone slab, beside a man in a checked shirt and dark trousers kneeling in the trench. Behind them, several workers in white dhotis and shirts, some wearing head cloths, carry and place stones among piles of cut grey granite blocks. Stacked grey concrete blocks stand on the left, blue tarpaulins and simple sheds sit in the background, and palm and leafy trees frame the scene under an overcast sky. +1 copiesOutdoor construction site with partially built concrete block walls held by bamboo scaffolding and rope-tied poles.
