Two workers' hands in white clothing are tying or adjusting thin metal wire and rods wrapped around the stone, which appears to be a carved statue being excavated or prepared for moving. A pale stone block sits beneath the piece, and dry soil surrounds it.2013-07-14A photograph of a large unfinished clay or mud sculpture lying on a wooden and brick base in an outdoor sandy yard. The form is a reclining figure with smooth rounded contours and tool marks visible on its surface, possibly a deity murti under construction. Red bricks surround the base, with a brick-edged garden bed, green plants, a red bucket and a wooden plank in the background. No people are visible in the frame.2006-09-18A close overhead photograph of two blackened, partly burnt metal or clay murti figures lying on rough reddish-brown earth with ash and charcoal scattered around them. One figure is seated with an upright posture and the other lies at an angle, both surfaces cracked and grey-black. At the lower right edge, a bare foot and the white dhoti with a red-and-gold border of a standing person are visible, along with sandals at the top right. No face of a clearly visible person is shown, and no ceremony is identifiable beyond the burnt murtis on the ground.2013-07-14July 13 20132013-07-13Two men in white shirts lean over stone troughs set on a sandy floor against an orange wall. Inside the upper trough a dark object lies covered, and in the lower trough a pale carved stone figure of a reclining form is visible, partly obscured by grime. One man, on the left, reaches down with his hand toward the lower trough while the other, on the right, bends close to inspect it.2013-07-14A large grey clay or plaster figure lies on its side on rough ground of dark earth and stones. The sculpted form shows a partly finished deity murti with a face and arms, its surface cracked and dusted with grey. Beside it lie a hammer with a wooden handle, a chisel and metal tools among scattered rubble. No people are visible.2013-07-14June 11 20132013-06-11 +1 copies
