A man at the left edge leans in. The golden backdrop has intricate repousse floral and figural carvings. Appearance cues include an orange robe, garland and bindi, with a visible nose ring; a person candidate in an honoured seated setting.2008-07-17A ceremonial coronation inside a temple hall. A standing elder in a golden crown with a white jasmine garland and rudraksha malas touches a golden crown placed on the head of a kneeling younger man in saffron robes and white flower garland, who joins his palms in a respectful namaste. Gold ornate throne and a framed portrait of a sage with vibhuti are behind them; a few other people in white dhotis stand in the background.2012-04-29July 17 20082008-07-17Two men in a gilded temple-style room. An older man with a shaved head, white tilak on his forehead, bare-chested with an orange-red lower garment, a long white jasmine garland with red flowers and a gold necklace, wears an ornate gold crown and raises his right hand with rings to bless the head of a younger man kneeling before him. The younger man has his hands folded in namaste, smiles, wears an ornate gold crown, a white garland, an orange-red robe, gold bangles and a small ear device. Behind them stands a gold-embossed throne and a framed portrait of a woman with a white-marked forehead, and a second man in white clothes and gold necklace is visible in the background.2012-04-29A photograph of a seated bearded man in a rust-brown silk garment wearing heavy gold temple-style necklaces, a long pink-and-white flower garland, and gold armlets, receiving a gold crown placed on his head by a saffron-robed priest with grey hair and a white beard. A second saffron-robed man stands at right holding the crown steady, and a third person in orange stands behind at upper right. A lower-left blurred foreground shows the heads of unidentified onlookers. Behind them is a large arch of marigolds and red, yellow, white and green flowers, with a gold trident standing at left and a gold kalasha-like ornament nearby. The scene appears to be a crowning or honouring ritual on a ceremonial stage.2016-12-23February 12 20132013-02-12A seated man with long dark hair and a full beard, bare-chested with a reddish-brown cloth draped over his shoulders, wears heavy gold ceremonial necklaces, pink and white pearl garlands, and a gold armband. Two elderly men in saffron-orange robes stand on either side; the one on the left, with white hair and beard, holds a large ornate gold crown above the seated man's head while the figure on the right, also in orange, supports it with his hand. Behind them is a backdrop of concentric rings of red, yellow and white marigold flowers, and a golden trident-like ceremonial staff is visible at the far left. The scene suggests a crowning ceremony during a birthday celebration. Swamiji (probable): the seated man has long swept-back hair, a ceremonial gold necklace and garlands, and is receiving the crown, consistent with the page's account of the Avatardinotsava.2016-12-23A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange head cloth sits on an ornate gold throne with a carved, shell-shaped back, and a gold necklace and rudraksha-style beads at his chest. A man in white kurta stands before him, hand raised, touching his own forehead near the seated man's head in a gesture of reverence. Garlands of yellow and purple flowers frame the throne, and a woman in a yellow garment stands at the left edge beside gold lion-head armrests. The setting suggests a satsang or darshan stage with a teal and green backdrop.2009-12-07November 18 20092009-11-18A seated man in saffron-orange robes and an orange head wrap sits on an ornate gold throne with carved backrest and lion-form armrests, decorated with yellow and purple flower garlands. A man in a white kurta gestures with raised hands as he touches the seated man's head, a blessing-style gesture. The seated man wears a rudraksha mala with gold beads. A woman in a yellow shawl stands at the left edge.2009-12-07A photograph of a seated man in orange-red clothes and a white flower garland being honoured by a standing priest in a tall gold crown and gold ceremonial necklaces. The standing priest, bare-chested with a wrap of red-orange cloth, holds a long gold-beaded chain above the seated man's head, with a tilak of white ash on his forehead. The seated man wears a gold beaded headband, a red-orange wrap and a small microphone clip, and smiles. Behind them stand a gilded throne-like seat and a gold-framed arch, with a portrait on the upper right and several people in white dress in the background.2012-04-29 +2 copies
