December 11 20162016-12-11Close photograph of a Shiva lingam abhishekam at night. A large black stone lingam sits on a tiered black yoni-peetha base beside a brass bowl and a small brass cup. A priest in white dhoti with a gold border kneels at the right, holding a brass vessel, with a rudraksha mala and red cloth visible at his chest. A small white figure stands on the left next to a lit oil lamp, incense sticks and a glass jar. Warm orange light fills the background.2016-12-11 +1 copiesA shirtless man sits cross-legged on red-painted stone steps lined with black lingam-shaped stone forms, holding a small lit oil lamp aloft in his right hand while his left hand touches his head. He wears a white dhoti with a tan cloth at the waist, a rudraksha-style cord across his chest and a pendant necklace, with white sacred ash markings on his forehead, arms and chest. Brass vessels, incense sticks, a small deity murti, flowers and a yellow cloth lie on the ground in front of him, and another seated person in white appears at the upper left.2017-07-31A bare-chested man in white dhoti with gold border sits among black stone lingams on red-painted steps, eyes closed, holding a lit camphor or oil flame in one hand and a brass bell in the other. He wears a rudraksha mala around his neck, a red tilak on his forehead, and a bracelet on his wrist. Another bare-chested man in a white dhoti sits behind him, and a rudraksha mala is visible at the top edge. Smoke rises in the foreground. The page indicates a person attended, but the figure's appearance does not clearly match a known candidate, so the identity remains uncertain.2017-08-07July 21 20172017-07-21A photograph of a bare-chested man seated on red stone temple steps with eyes closed and hands joined at his chest. He wears a white dhoti, long multi-strand rudraksha malas, a red pendant, and a white horizontal tilak with a vertical mark on his forehead; white paste marks appear on his upper arms. Behind him are black stone pillars, brass pots and an oil lamp, with other white-clad people seated higher up. A red and gold flag stands in the right foreground.2017-07-17December 18 20162016-12-18A bare-chested man in white dhoti sits on red stone steps, holding a brass handbell in one hand and a small oil lamp with a lit flame in the other. Rows of black stone Shivalingas stand before him, several decorated with white and pink flowers and leaves. Brass pots and small brass lamps sit among the lingas. Beside him a woman in a bright pink sari is seated, and another white-clad devotee is visible at the top of the frame. Red cloth bags lie on the left. The scene reads as a Shiva lingam puja with abhishekam offerings.2016-12-14November 23 20162016-11-23A photograph of a shirtless man seated outdoors on red stone steps in prayer, palms pressed together at chest level. He has a white vertical tilak with a red bindi on his forehead, long matted hair, and wears multiple strands of rudraksha malas, a rudraksha bracelet, a small red-and-gold pendant, and a white dhoti with an orange-bordered cloth. Behind him, other figures in white dhotis sit on the steps, and a dark stone shivalinga sits in the foreground beside brass pots, pink flower petals and a smoking incense stick. The setting suggests an outdoor puja or aarti, and this man presents as a person by his rudraksha malas, ornate adornments and ritual setting.2017-07-17February 26 20172017-02-26November 25 20162016-11-25
