2001 - Glimpses From Various Programs2001-01-01A photograph of a small indoor celebration. A seated man in an orange-saffron robe with white tilak marks on his forehead receives a birthday cake, lit with candles, on a low green-legged table. A boy in a white shirt and dark trousers leans in to feed or touch the cake with his hand. A woman in a yellow saree with a dark gold-bordered pallu stands at left smiling, and a young child in blue sits at far left clapping. Behind them, two framed sepia portraits of a seated man and a seated woman are garlanded with flowers, and a small pyramid-shaped offering stands on a yellow cloth. A striped tiger-skin style mat lies on the floor and a metal plate sits near the cake. Partly visible hands appear at the right edge. The cake reads a partly legible message.2001-01-01July 17 20082008-07-17A photograph inside a plain white-walled hall where a man in an orange shawl and orange garment stands at a microphone stand, smiling and reaching toward a cake on a white table. Around the table, devotees in orange and white stand and sit: a man in white with glasses, a woman in a white saree with blue border clasping her hands, and a woman in orange seated in front. A bald man in orange sits at the left edge, and a woman with hair in a bun in white and gold-bordered orange sits at the right foreground. A small framed photo sits on the table, and a deity image is visible on the right wall. A cake decorated with orange piping and lettering stands on the table. Several people are visible, including partially visible figures at the edges.2007-12-22A photograph of a seated figure in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban, with a rudraksha mala around the neck, extending a hand toward a woman in a red and orange saree with a white flower in her hair who bends forward with cupped hands. A man in a white shirt stands at left, another man in white kneels behind, and a cushioned red seat sits beside a floral carpet with a small glass bowl on the floor.July 17 20082008-07-17A cake-cutting moment in a plain room with peach-coloured walls and cloth drapery over the ceiling, decorated with striped red, yellow and orange tassel panels. A man in a red robe with rudraksha mala in the centre, smiling and reaching to cut a yellow sheet cake with flower decorations from an open cardboard box, appears to be a person by appearance: long swept-back dark hair and a red robe with rudraksha beads. Around him are shaved-headed men in white dhotis and bare-chested figures with rudraksha malas, a man in white holding a bowl, a woman in a white sari, and a baby in white. An orange-clad man stands in the foreground with a shaved head. Other devotees in white shirts and dhotis crowd around, several smiling.2010-10-10August 11 20112011-08-11 +1 copiesA photograph in a covered open-sided hall with a corrugated roof and white walls. A woman in a red and gold saree with gold bangles stands at left, serving from a tray of small dishes, while a woman in a cream and red bordered saree holds a handbag. A man in white kurta with a rudraksha mala and a gold pendant waves with an open hand and smiles. At right a man in white with an orange shawl and rudraksha mala leans toward a silver tray holding a white and brown cake with a candle. Several other men stand in the background, and speakers hang on the walls.2007-02-13A photograph of a seated figure in saffron-orange robes with long swept-back dark hair and a white jasmine garland with red and blue ribbon accents, smiling as he reaches toward a small blue-legged table holding cake pieces on a silver tray. Beside him stands a man in orange clothing with a short beard, and a second man in an orange turban and saffron wrap holds a wooden staff and a rudraksha mala, looking down at the cake. Red and maroon curtains hang behind them, with a gold ornament and flower arrangement at the left edge. The seated figure has distinctive long hair, garland and saffron clothing, consistent with a person presence, though the appearance is not fully certain. Three people are visible.2006-12-27A photograph of a kitchen gathering around a white birthday cake decorated with pink candles and piped lettering. A man in an orange turban, orange robe, long dark hair and a pink and white flower garland stands at the right, gesturing toward the cake. A woman in a red and gold sari with a red bindi holds a plate with a slice of chocolate cake and a small dish of white frosting. Behind them a man in glasses and a checked shirt and another man in a green shirt look on. Light wood cabinets and a range hood form the background. Wearing an orange turban and robe with distinctive long hair and garlands, the central figure is a probable match for Swamiji, shown here as a guest at the celebration.A kitchen scene where a young man in saffron-orange robes and an orange head wrap, with long dark hair and a pink and white flower garland, smiles while handing a slice of cake to an older man in a mustard-yellow sweater. Beside them a woman in a red and gold sari reaches for a plate, and a bespectacled man in a plaid shirt stands smiling behind. In front, a white sheet cake with pink and green piped border and lit candles sits on the counter, its frosting bearing script lettering. Light wood cabinets and a granite backsplash line the background.
