A white jasmine garland drapes down the pot's side, and grass stalks rise from the top. Behind it, blurred figures in orange and saffron robes sit near a gold-toned backdrop, with yellow and white marigold garlands and flower offerings in the foreground. No faces are clearly visible, so no person can be identified.2013-12-25A decorated silver throne-like seat is heaped with yellow and pink roses, pink petals, green leaves and a banana, with purple and gold cloth draped over a central kalasha-type vessel topped with mango-leaf and yellow-wrapped coconut bundles. In front of the deity, a tall brass oil lamp with a flame burns on a stand, and a brass kalasha-like vessel is decorated with garlands. To the left, another saffron-clad devotee with folded hands stands near brass lamps, and a figure in white is partly visible at the edge. Carved stone pillars and greenery frame the shrine.A photograph of a priest in saffron-orange robes with a matching orange head wrap performing a ritual before a deity murti. The priest stands at left, reaching up with both hands to adorn the murti, which wears a large crown and is draped with layered garlands of white, red, yellow and green flowers. Bright flower petals and a red and gold cloth lie at the base, and a gilded arch frames the shrine. The scene reads as a puja or abhishekam at a home shrine.2008-05-032010 - Photo Album +1 copiesA seated priest in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange head wrap sits cross-legged on an orange cushion, holding yellow flowers in one hand before a large deity murti draped with a long garland of white and multicoloured flowers and green-and-gold cloth. Brass plates, bowls and a kalasha-style vessel sit on the floor beside oranges, apples, bananas, sweets, a pink flower heap and a basket of marigolds, forming a puja offering spread. Behind the priest, a second person in white stands at the edge of the frame. The room has white curtains, a framed picture on the wall and a gilded mirror.2008-05-03A man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban stands at left, wearing a long multicolored flower garland, and holds a metal ritual vessel from which flames rise. Beside him on a decorated altar are two metal deity murtis, one seated with a raised hand, and a large yellow marigold garland draped over offerings. Brass and silver puja vessels, bowls of flowers and fruit sit on a cloth in front, under a canopy with purple and white decorations. The scene suggests a fire ritual or aarti at an outdoor puja tent.
