Beside him on a decorated altar are two metal deity murtis, one seated with a raised hand, and a large yellow marigold garland draped over offerings. Brass and silver puja vessels, bowls of flowers and fruit sit on a cloth in front, under a canopy with purple and white decorations. The scene suggests a fire ritual or aarti at an outdoor puja tent.A standing man in saffron-orange robes with a gold-bordered shawl and a red-and-white flower garland stands at the left, raising one hand in greeting. Behind a central shrine, a large floral arch of marigolds and roses frames a decorated deity murti with a gold crown and garlands, flanked by two figures in bright clothing and gold ornaments. In front, a tall mandala-like kalasha ornament of flowers and leaves surrounds a seated figure in orange, with brass lamps, fruit and offerings arranged on the floor.May 02 20122012-05-02 +2 copiesA photograph of a fire-offering ritual in an open pavilion with a draped white and red cloth ceiling. Stacked brass and bronze vessels and small offerings are arranged along the platform, and banana bunches and a bamboo pole frame the top of the scene. Brass plates, bowls and a kalasha-style vessel sit on the floor beside oranges, apples, bananas, sweets, a pink flower heap and a basket of marigolds, forming a puja offering spread. Behind the priest, a second person in white stands at the edge of the frame. The room has white curtains, a framed picture on the wall and a gilded mirror.2008-05-032010 - Photo AlbumA photograph of a temple ritual inside a hall with overhead lighting.
