January 17 20172017-01-17September 30 20082008-09-30A wide outdoor view under an overcast grey sky at a tropical ashram compound. Tall palm trees and leafy green shrubs frame the left side, with flowering pink bushes in the middle. On the right stands an open-sided dark-roofed pavilion with reddish-orange tall pillars, beneath which a small shrine area is visible, and a figure in white clothing stands near its base. The paved concrete courtyard in the foreground is empty of crowds, and no clear ritual activity is shown.2013-09-09February 10 20072007-02-10 +1 copiesJuly 08 20102010-07-08April 14 20132013-04-14January 01 20172017-01-01Upward view of a tall, cylindrical copper-coloured flagstaff or dhvaja stambha rising against a bright sky, with a small ornate finial and a flag or cloth fluttering near its top. Thin guy ropes run from the pole toward the lower right, where a hand holds one rope beside a red and orange parasol with dark decorative edging. A corrugated roof edge and a palm tree frame the left and right sides, and the sun glares near the upper centre. No people are fully visible beyond the hand and arm at the lower right.2014-08-20 +1 copiesOutdoor ashram courtyard with a tall tapering wooden pillar rising from a white square plinth at centre, coconut palms behind and stone statues on the left. Many seated people in white clothes with yellow shawls sit in rows on mats and circular marks on sandy ground, while a few seated figures wear orange robes, one near the plinth. A bald man in white stands at the front edge of a white platform with red and white stripes, facing the rows. Other people sit on mats at the lower left in varied clothing. Scene suggests a ritual gathering; the orange-robed figures appear to be sannyasis or priests rather than a clearly identifiable individual.2010-08-03A bright sun glows through hazy grey sky above a tall ritual flagpole with a red and ochre finial and wrapped striped shaft, rising from the lower right, beside a dark building wall on the left. No people are visible in the frame. The pole appears to be a dhwajastambha, a temple flag mast, shown in silhouette against the sun.2014-08-31July 28 20102010-07-28 +1 copiesOutdoor mallakhamba (pole yoga) session on a paved courtyard with a red-brick building and trees behind. A shirtless man with short dark hair balances on top of a tall vertical wooden pole, one leg extended and bent, wearing red shorts and a thin cord across his chest. Several other wooden poles stand around the courtyard with padded mats beneath them. Many people in orange clothing are scattered across the ground, some practising on mats and others standing or bending. In the foreground a person in orange lies prone on a mat, and a woman in black stands at the right edge. Overcast sky above.2017-10-03
