January 12 20172017-01-12January 07 20172017-01-07A photograph of a priest in an orange dhoti and bare shoulders performing ritual worship at a dark stone Shivalinga draped in orange and red cloth. A saffron-yellow turmeric paste disc sits on the linga, and a green leaf garland crowns it. The linga is set against a gold-plated backdrop with green gemstone-style ornaments, and the base is wrapped in yellow and red marigold and rose garlands. Rudraksha beads hang around it, and the priest wears a rudraksha bracelet and gold bangle while pressing the cloth with both hands. This appears to be a puja or abhishekam to a deity murti, with no a person figure visible in the frame.2011-11-03Outdoor temple ritual on a stone-paved courtyard. Four men in saffron-orange robes with rudraksha-style gold and bead necklaces sit cross-legged with palms pressed together in prayer. Two seated devotees in saffron and gold-bordered cloth are at left and centre-left, one with long dark hair and one shaved-headed; a third, shaved-headed, sits at right with hands near a brass plate. A standing figure in orange cloth stands behind them. Before them lies an orange cloth with a silver plate of flowers, sweets and offerings, along with brass pots and vessels. Behind is a crowd in white clothes, a thatched shelter and a cameraman filming, with a stone temple structure at right.2010-12-29January 12 20172017-01-12Close photo of a person in an orange saffron garment with a black thread bracelet on the wrist, holding a small white cup-shaped leaf or shell containing red flower petals and green leaves, with the other palm open beneath it. Behind them is a ritual setup with brass bells, brass cups and small bowls, a brass plate with fruit and flowers, and a red and white cloth. The hands and garment dominate the frame, and no face is visible.2017-01-29September 26 20092009-09-26Close view of seated sannyasis in saffron-orange robes performing a puja on the floor. Their hands, wrapped in rudraksha bracelets, reach toward brass puja plates set on a red cloth. The plates hold yellow flowers, green leaves, a small bowl of white rice or offering, a lit oil lamp, a brass bell, small brass cups and a silver shiva-linga shaped vessel. Black-and-white rudraksha malas hang from the wrists and necks of the seated figures.2017-01-12January 13 20172017-01-13January 04 20172017-01-04Outdoor photo on sand under a pale sky of a figure in a brown robe with long matted dreadlocks and multiple rudraksha malas, hands pressed together and dusted with white ash, standing before a large offering of pink and orange flowers, green leaves and golden-brown items on a tray. A brass kalasha-like vessel and a metal stand with ornate carving sit at right, with a red-clad person at the top right edge and a hand wearing a silver bangle and ring at the lower left. Figure appears to be performing a puja or padapuja style offering; the face is not visible.2018-04-28A seated group of saffron- and orange-robed monastics gathers on a red patterned carpet in a room with a white tiled wall. Centre left, a man in a red turban, gold-striped red-orange robe, and a heavy gold necklace with a garland presses his palms together and smiles. Beside him, a bald man in a red shawl sits cross-legged, and another bald man in red and gold sits with hands joined. A bearded man in orange stands at the right edge. At the lower left a grey-bearded elder in orange wears rudraksha beads, and a woman with her hair in a bun, in orange, faces the group, with small bags of gold-coloured items placed nearby. A man in a pink shirt sits in the lower right foreground. Several seated and standing people in saffron and pink fill the frame, including at the top edge.2015-09-21
