In Kanchipuram, Tamilnadu, Bhagawan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam inaugurated the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam ashram by doing the bhoomi pooja (worship to Mother Earth), laying the first bricks and unveiling the foundation stone on 24 Nov 2006. He declared that this ashram will function as the Shakti Peetam (Seat of the Divine Mother).
