Maatru Bhava
Etymology
Maatru means “Mother” and Bhava means “Feeling Connection”. Maatru Bhava means feeling connection with Cosmic Mother - Relating with the Cosmos as Mother.

The first Upanishad, Isavasya Upanishad, second is Keno Upanishad. Keno Upanishad introduces Mother worship. In Keno Upanishad mother worship starts and it is a very strong living tradition in India, in Bharat, in Sanatana Hindu Dharma.
Introduction to Mother Worship
First and foremost relationship is Mother.
Ability to learn, even idea to relate starts with Mother. How to relate starts with mother. Your idea to relate, your ability to relate starts with mother.
Please understand, even she was not there in your life, the impact of that remains forever. Either she is there or not there, her impact on you remains on you forever. If she was there, if she is there in a positive way; if she was not there, her absence impacts you forever.
Mother is too important way to connect with what you think as life.
In Vedic tradition our Rishis were aware that your ability to connect with the mother should be directed to Cosmos. It should inspire your higher consciousness to express through you. It should awaken your higher consciousness. Connecting with life as mother is the most sweetest, most beautiful, most easiest form to ever connect.

Blessed are those, who had responsible mother till you became 14. Actually till 14 only you need, till you become physically mature, you need mother. Blessed are those who had life around their mother till 14. I tell you, till 14 if you had mother living around you, living with you then you know how to connect with mother. You don’t need a separate lesson to connect with the Divine. So much completion will happen to you. So much means really really so much.

I myself have a great mother and amazing connection with life in the form of mother. Even though I had darshans of different gods, goddesses. Mahadeva himself in the form of Arunagiri Yogeshwara but everything was with the undercurrent of mother. Even Arunagiri Yogeshwara, he was so much Mother for me than Guru. Even Ragupati Yogi, a old yogi, so much motherliness I experience with him than his Gurugiri, than him being a Guru.
I tell you, of course, Mata Vibhudananda Puri, she was a woman, an elderly woman by nature, naturally you will experience her motherhood. But even with Raghupati Yogi, the kind of motherliness I experienced is amazing. Connect with cosmos in the form of mother you will experience so much, so much completion, so much motherliness in everything.

Bring Completion In You and Others with Motherliness
People will experience so much motherliness from you in everything. I tell you, when motherliness starts oozing out in you, even on the chairs you sit when become complete. It won’t feel the heaviness of you. It will feel you as blessing. The ground on which you walk will feel blessed by the touch of your feet. The air you breathe will be blessed. People whom you see with your eyes will experience the love and compassion. I tell you, nothing can be compared to receiving the love of motherliness and sharing radiating motherliness. If you can’t radiate, receive and radiate, whoever you maybe, you waste your life. You are missing one the major dimensions of your life.
Whether you relate with your Guru or your God, it can be any god, Shiva, Vishnu, Parvati, Durga, Kali, Ganesha, Subramanya, any God, if you can relate with that tremendous motherliness. If you can perceive motherliness from your god or Guru and radiate that motherliness to the people around you. You have succeeded in game of completion. You will bring so much completion into you and to others. So much completion into you and to others.
Mother Worship Traditions are Non-Violent Traditions
I tell you, only the mother worship traditions are non violent on the planet earth.
Please understand, because with mother worship so much healing happens in your heart. So much completion is experienced in your bio memory, so much joy is evoked in your system.
Tradition which honors mother worship are only non-violent. I have analyzed various religions, around 330 religions are still alive, practiced in world. When I say 330 recognized, unique religion. .. I have analyzed almost every one of them, I tell you, whichever religion that has mother worship, encourages mother worship; whichever tradition has mother worship, connecting with the cosmos as mother, those traditions are all non-violent. They are so non violent. So peace centered, Ahimsa centered, non-violent centered. Whether it is Buddhist traditions, or Jain traditions, or Shakta Sampradya, in whichever tradition, mother worship, connecting with the god in the mother form exists. I have seen, they become non-violent. They are so healing, comforting, soothing.
Easiest Method to Connect with the Divine
So, there is so much to tell about mother worship. Only with mother worship, your bio memory becomes complete and your whole being is awakened with energy, Shakti. Connecting with the ultimate is much more easy in the way of mother worship than any other method, any other technique, any other process.
Even devotion is very easy in the tradition of mother worship. It will be so natural. It will be such a natural flow to connect with mother and experience mother worship. These 9 days we will be worshipping various forms of mother, divine mother.
Mother Worship Brings Completion With the Source
All great things starts with Devi. The source of ‘I’ identity… All our identity whether you are in a deep sleep or waking state or turiya or turiyatita, we are all from Mother and we go back to Mother.
It is only if the Mother becomes active you can get enlightened. Understand. Sadāshiva is a state. Only Mother holds the key! Sadāshiva is a state, but only Devi - Adi Shakti holds the key in Her hip. Key is in the hip of Adi Shakti. Only if She opens the door, you can experience Sadāshiva. Sadāshiva is only a space. It’s only Adi Shakti who decides who will experience that space. All your incompletion with your identity is your incompletion with your source; that will start melting down. Any incompletion you have...you have with Cosmic Mother only, because She is the source. If you are incomplete about the person who is sitting next to you, it is not about the person next to you, it’s about the source of that person and you - both, Mother - Cosmic Mother.
Mother Worship in Hinduism
All over India, the mother worship tradition is very popular because one of the very powerful, very important, highly practice tradition in India is mother worship tradition. Seeing god as mother. Every village in India, you will find one Devi temple. You may, may not find Shiva temple. Around 6 Lakh villages exist in India, in all 6 lakh villages. Ganesha temple you may find in 2 Lakh, Shiva temple you may find 4 Lakh, but Devi temple, almost 6 lakh you will find.
Whether it is North or South, or East or West in India, connecting with god as mother is very strong way of life. Every village will have the village deity. Gramina Devata, which will be usually mother. Usually it will be in the form of mother. Basically, Sanatana Hindu Dharma is mother worshiping tradition.
