Original Verse

डांवां पग की एडी जोई सीवनि आनि लगवै सोई दछिन पद लाबौ जु पसारे तामें आनि कांकसी धारै ॥१०३ दोउ षवा उर्ध सो धरे तिन सो फेरि अभ्यास जु करे नासाद्रिष्टि आन ठहरावै महमुद्रा नाम सो पावै॥१०४ पथि अपथि न चाहियै विष अमृत होय जाय अनरस रसता को लहै मरन कलेस मिटाय ॥१०५ षई रोग अथवा कुष्ट गुदावर्त मिटि जाय गुलम अजीर्ण रोगजे मुद्रा देत नसाय ॥१०६


Transliteration

ḍāṃvāṃ paga kī eḍī joī sīvani āni lagavai soī dachina pada lābau ju pasāre tāmeṃ āni kāṃkasī dhārai ॥103 dou ṣavā urdha so dhare tina so pheri abhyāsa ju kare nāsādriṣṭi āna ṭhaharāvai mahamudrā nāma so pāvai॥104 pathi apathi na cāhiyai viṣa amṛta hoya jāya anarasa rasatā ko lahai marana kalesa miṭāya ॥105 ṣaī roga athavā kuṣṭa gudāvarta miṭi jāya gulama ajīrṇa rogaje mudrā deta nasāya ॥106


Translation

Place the left heel against the perineum, extend the right leg and catch hold the sole with hands by making a finger lock. Repeat it with the other legs. Gaze should be at the tip of the nose. Nothing remains conducive or non-conducive with regard to food. The poison converts in to nectar. Even one can avoid the death. Diseases like T.B., leprosy, tumor, indigestion etc. can be overcome.

āsana-Yoga-grantha-59; Yoga-Asanamala Sacitra (ms.)-7. Same as ardhapascimatana, ardhapascimottanasana, janusirasana. It is recommended to consume a liquid gruel made of green mung dal and rice should be taken sip by sip, and after few minutes then start the asana.

Instruction

1. Stay on the ground with legs stretched forward

2. Bend the left knee and place the heel at the perineum

3. Hold the right foot with both hands with fingers interlocked

4. Bend the head forward

5. Place the chin on the right knee

6. Fix your gaze at the nose tip

7. Remain in this pose 30 seconds
