Kripananda Variyar Swamigal
Kripananda Variyar Swamigal is among the enlightened beings of the modern day, contemporaries of Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Annamalai Swamigal, and others who dedicated their life to proliferating the teachings of Hinduism, specifically of Shaivism.
Kripananda Variyar Swamigal was a devoted bhakta of Lord Muruga, or lord Subhramanya who is the son of Paramashiva. He was known throughout Tamil Nadu for his profound discourses in Tamil and his work toward rebuilding and completing the works of many temples in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Once after the discourse of Kripananda Variyar Swamigal when The Avatar was young, He approached him afterward and asked him a doubt which He had about what Variyar Swamigal was teaching. Astounded at the wisdom of the ten-year old Incarnation, Kripananda Variyar Swamigal asked in Tamil: ‘சுட்ட பழம் வேணுமா, சுடாத பழம் வேணுமானு, அவ்வையை கேட்ட மாதிரி என்னை கேக்க வந்தாயா அப்பா?’ (‘Sutta pazham venuma, suddaadha pazham venuma nu, Avvaiyai keta maadhiri ennai kekka vandhaaya appa?’). He asked if just like how Muruga came down and corrected the great Tamil saint Avvai, if Muruga Himself had come down in the form of the Avatar in front of him. Kripananda Variyar Swamigal was so shocked that until His Divine Holiness left the hall Kripananda Variyar Swamigal remained holding namaskar to Him with deep reverence. I'm this way the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism was recognized for the expression of the supreme consciousness by Variyar Swamigal Himself.
The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism even associates the discourses of Kripananda Variyar Swamigal to his own knowledge and expression of the divine language of Tamil.
