DAILY TEMPLE ACTIVITIES
The DAILY TEMPLE ACTIVITIES at KAILASA Houston represent the foundational spiritual practices that ensure the continuity and vitality of the ancient enlightened Sanatana Hindu civilization on Western shores. The sacred day began in the early morning Brahmamuhurta with devotees engaging in rigorous spiritual disciplines, including Nithyananda Yoga and Nithya Dhyan meditation, which featured the practice of 108 Prathama Vinyasa Krama. These profound spiritual technologies gifted by THE SPH prepare the body and mind, enabling devotees to connect directly with the state, space, powers, being and superconsciousness of Paramashiva.
The liturgical schedule commenced with the vital daily Hindu rituals. The Suprapatam Seva was offered, which is the sacred process of ritually waking the presiding deities, symbolizing the awakening of the divine consciousness present within all beings. This was followed by Bhoga Murty Alankaram, a reverential act where new clothing and jewels were offered to the deities of THE SPH, Devi, and Shiva Meru. The morning continued with a sacred Deity Procession, ritually welcoming the Bhoga Murthy deities into the main temple area in a grand, ritualistic manner, reinforcing the sanctity of the temple space.
Central to the Nithyotsavam was the comprehensive Guru Puja, offered directly to THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM (SPH), BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, and the Shiva Puja, performed to Lord Nithyanandeshwara (Moolavar) in both morning and evening sessions. These continuous daily rituals are crucial for receiving the blessings and divine grace of THE SPH and all the gods and goddesses of KAILASA. The offerings concluded in the evening with Naivedhyam, where blessed food was reverently presented to all the deities.
The full cycle of the sacred day was brought to a close with the Palliyarai Seva, the sacred process of putting the deities to sleep, accompanied by the offering of Chamaram (sacred whisk). The successful execution and maintenance of this elaborate daily Nithyotsavam schedule were made possible by the dedicated service of two committed volunteers, who tirelessly upheld KAILASA's mission of reviving Sanatana Hindu Dharma in Houston, USA.
