Kripananda Variyar Swamigal was one of the greatest inspirations to The young SPH during His childhood in Tiruvannamalai. As a child, The SPH never missed even one public discourse of Sri Kripananda Variyar that happened in Tiruvannamalai.

Kripananda Variyar Swamigal (25 Aug 1906 - 7 Nov 1993) was born in Kangeyanallur, a small village in Thondai Nadu, South India. He was a Shaivite spiritual teacher and an ardent devotee of Lord Muruga. He was known for his Shaivaite talks and talks extolling Lord Muruga's glory. He sustained and re-established authentic Hinduism during his time. He is considered to be 64th Nayanmar - historic devotees of Paramaśiva. He received the prestigious 'Isai Perarignar' award in 1967 from the Tamil Isai Sangam of Tamil Nadu, South India.
