Night outdoor fire ritual. A central figure in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and a gold-toned necklace tosses or offers something into the fire with one hand. To the right, a saffron-clad man with a long rudraksha mala holds a brass bowl. A bare-chested man in a white dhoti stands at the far right holding a staff. Behind them, a crowd of roughly 25 people in white and saffron clothing, some with red shawls and marigold garlands, stands watching the ritual under the night sky.

Night outdoor homa at a tented venue: a brick-lined fire pit sends up smoke and flames at lower left. Women in white and cream saris stand in a long line, several holding round white plates or bowls of offerings toward the pit; the foremost woman in a cream sari with gold border and a dark beaded necklace extends her plate. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at left, and a row of white-clad devotees waits behind the line under a blue tent canopy. No clear depiction of the a person is visible.

Night photograph of a group walking along a dark road with a white centre line, apparently on a girivalam circuit. In the foreground a woman in an orange top and orange shawl holds up a camera. Beside her a woman in a white sari with a red-gold border and a woman in a yellow sari walk in the group. Several men wear white dhotis with orange shawls, and a man in an orange robe and orange shawl walks at the right edge. Others wear saffron and orange robes and white garments. About twenty people are visible.

Night fire ritual at an outdoor stone platform. Several people in white clothes and orange or saffron shawls sit around the platform and kneel on the ground in the foreground, some holding brass vessels. A figure in orange robes sits cross-legged on the right edge of the platform beside the fire, and another orange-clad attendant stands behind it under a streetlight. Smoke rises from the fire into the dark background. Robes and shawls are orange, clothing is white, and the scene is lit by the fire and a lamp.

A night-time outdoor ritual on a bare earthen ground lit by a single fire. A small fire burns on a raised brick hearth at centre, with brick and wooden platforms around it. Several people in white clothes move around the fire carrying metal plates or offerings; one woman in a white sari stands near the fire, and a woman in a red blouse and pink sari holds a plate in the foreground. A man in a white shirt and light trousers with an ID badge walks in the lower centre, and an older woman in a white sari sits at lower left holding a plate. Others in white and saffron stand in the background, one wearing an orange shawl. Dark surroundings with a few distant lights.

Night outdoor ritual on a grassy lawn lit by a bright floodlight. A large crowd of devotees in white and red-brown shawls stands in rows, hands pressed in namaskar, many with heads bowed. In the foreground a figure in a white and striped sari kneels at a fire pit, tending a flame with ritual offerings, brass vessels and bundles arranged on a cloth beside it. Nearby a woman in a red sari with a beaded necklace stands with folded hands beside a decorated canopy and a small illuminated structure. This appears to be a homa or fire ritual performed outdoors at night.

Night photograph of a dirt road lined on both sides by devotees standing in two rows facing each other. On the left, women wear white saris with gold borders, one in a pink patterned sari and one in a red blouse with a sari; on the right, men wear white dhotis and shirts, one in a light blue shirt with grey trousers, and some wear lanyards. Dim lights and a utility pole are visible in the dark background, with low shed-like buildings beyond. The arrangement suggests a procession lane.

A night photograph of a homa or fire ritual at an outdoor site. A square brick fire pit with a small flame and rising smoke sits in the foreground. Two women in white, one in a white shawl and one in a white sari with a gold border, hold small leaf plates of offerings toward the fire. Several other people in white garments stand and move in the background under a tent-like canopy, and a man in white stands at the pit's edge holding a long stick.
