A tall flame rises from a yellow-painted brick fire pit filled with burning wood, scattered red flower petals and white ash. A brass bowl with a long brass ladle stands beside the fire, and a hand holding the ladle appears at top left. A small brass vessel sits at bottom left. No people's faces are visible, only a partial arm and lap at the edge.2018-01-05May 29 20182018-05-29 +1 copiesA fire ritual in progress: a fire burns in a brick hearth whose yellow-painted bricks are dotted with red kumkum and scattered rice grains. A hand holding a silver ladle with a long handle pours liquid into the flames, and a copper-and-silver bowl sits on the left edge. Darbha grass lies on the bricks. The scene suggests a homa or yagna. No people beyond the hand are visible, and the background shows a colourful striped cloth.2018-03-12A brick-walled fire pit (homa/yagna) burns brightly at the centre, with orange flames and rising smoke. Rose petals and a wooden log are laid along the top of the bricks. In the foreground a brass ladle and bowl are held by a hand at the left, with brass vessels, a glass jar of water and green leaves at the bottom. A white cloth hangs in the background. No people's faces are visible; only one hand is shown.2017-07-03July 09 20152015-07-09 +3 copiesJanuary 05 20182018-01-05May 02 20172017-05-02Close-up photo of a homa fire ritual on a brick fire pit. Bright orange flames rise on the right while a long ladle or spoon pours a thin stream of ghee into the fire. A small engraved copper or brass bowl sits on the bricks, flanked by flower offerings in white, pink and yellow, with sticks laid across the pit. Only a sliver of white cloth and a hand appears at the left edge, and blurred yellow and orange garlands sit in the background. No identifiable person's face is visible, so no one is attributed to a person.2018-01-06
