At left, a man in a white dhoti and cream shawl with a red-and-white garland stands by the trunk near a white-painted platform scattered with flower petals. At centre, a small shrine holds a deity murti in orange and red garments, decorated with garlands, under an ornate gold canopy. To the right, a group of about a dozen people stand on a dark wet stone walkway: several saffron-robed sannyasis, and figures in white dhotis and yellow-bordered shawls. A man on the far right in white holds a brass tray and a woman in orange holds a tray of offerings. Red and orange marigold garlands hang along the left edge. The scene suggests a sacred-water bathing ritual at a sarovar.2010-01-02 +1 copiesApril 03 20162016-04-03December 27 20092009-12-27A photograph of devotees at an outdoor shrine beside a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots. Beside them a man in a saffron-orange robe with gold border and a mala stands with palms together. To the right, two men in white shirts and white dhotis, one in grey trousers, and a bald man in white dhoti with gold border stand facing the tree, all gazing upward. Fallen leaves lie on the red earth, with a low stone wall curving around the tree base.2011-10-01Outdoors beneath a large banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots, a shaven-headed priest in white dhoti with gold border stands at right, extending his hand toward a group of men. Several men in white and checked shirts and jeans stand on a dark stone platform, hands pressed together in prayer or receiving something small from the priest. One man in a white shirt holds out cupped hands. Some people are barefoot, and a few others stand in the background among the trunks.2011-09-24January 02 20102010-01-02 +1 copiesDecember 31 20092009-12-31August 21 20112011-08-21June 17 20172017-06-17
