February 01 2009 Kalpataru Convention at Coimbatore City

A standing man with long, loose black hair and a small red tilak on his forehead wears a flowing saffron-orange robe wrapped over one shoulder and raises both palms outward in a blessing gesture on a stage. Behind him stands an ornate gold throne with red velvet cushions, garlanded with yellow, red and white flowers, beneath pink and turquoise drapery and a floral canopy. The stage is covered in red carpet with a white draped table at left. Appearance-based label: a person, with the same role of a robed figure giving blessing before the throne. In the foreground a blurred camera or equipment is visible. Event context matches a Kalpataru convention at Erode, Tamil Nadu.

A standing man in an orange-red robe with long dark hair and a red forehead mark raises both palms toward the audience in front of an ornate gold throne. The throne has a red velvet seat, is decorated with floral garlands in white, pink, red and yellow, and rests on a gold footstool with a red cushion. Behind him is a yellow-orange backdrop with white rays and a large red sun disc. Flower arrangements and fruit sit on white-draped tables at each side of the stage on a red carpet. Swamiji (probable): the man has long swept-back hair, a saffron robe and a red forehead mark, and is standing before the throne in a stage setting.

A man in orange saffron robes sits on an ornate gold throne with red velvet cushions and gold trident finials, speaking into a microphone on a stand. He wears a long gold bead necklace over the orange garment, a red bindi on his forehead, and has long dark hair swept back. His right hand is raised in a gesture while his left rests in his lap. Behind him hang large garlands of orange, yellow, pink, green and white flowers, with a jewelled necklace and a purple and gold draped cloth. Flower petals lie at the base of the throne. Swamiji (probable): the orange robes, long hair, gold beads and ornate throne match the page's satsang context, a discourse seated on a peetha.

The throne has a red zebra-striped cushion and is garlanded with white and red flowers, and a green-leaved bough hangs overhead. A man seated on an ornate gold throne with red-and-gold tiger-stripe cushions, framed by a garland-draped arch of white, pink, red and yellow flowers against a red backdrop. He wears saffron-orange robes, a long red-and-yellow flower garland, and a red tilak on his forehead. His right hand is raised in blessing while his left holds a silver trident. Swamiji (probable): long, swept-back hair, saffron clothing, flower garland and trident indicate the presiding figure seated on the throne. Setting suggests a stage or satsang dais; the photo shows the upper body and throne only.

A seated man in a saffron-orange robe with long, swept-back dark hair and a red bindi on his forehead sits on an ornate gold throne with a red cushion, raising both palms in a blessing gesture. The throne is decorated with garlands of yellow marigolds, red roses and white flowers, with a floral arch and blue drapes above and a gold curtain behind. The red stage floor and a green plastic bag appear at the sides. Appearance-based cues of long hair, saffron clothing and red bindi match a probable Swamiji (probable) seated in a blessing posture. Only one physical person is visible.

A seated man in an orange saffron robe and long gold bead necklace sits on an ornate gold throne with red cushions, hands raised in front of him while speaking into a microphone on a stand. He has long swept-back dark hair and a red bindi on his forehead. Behind the throne are red and pink draped fabrics with marigold garlands. This appears to be a satsang discourse. The appearance is consistent with the page's Swamiji candidate, but the face-independent cues are a throne, saffron clothing, gold beads and long hair, so this is a probable identification.
