A bare-backed man lies prostrate in full length on a dark grey stone floor beside a dark stone plinth of a temple, in a ritual obeisance. He wears a rust-orange dhoti with gold border and has flower garlands of yellow, red and white around his neck and head, with a rudraksha-style bead bracelet on his wrist. Standing around him are several people in orange and saffron robes and white and cream dhotis with gold borders, some holding folded cloths. The setting appears to be a temple courtyard with a stone floor and a metal pole at right.2018-04-29Photo 11716832 +1 copiesA photograph of a person prostrating face-down on a stone floor in a temple setting, wearing a rust-orange dhoti and long dark dreadlocked hair with a white flower garland. Standing around them are devotees in orange and white ritual clothing, some bare-chested with ash and sandalwood markings and rudraksha malas, holding white cloth and a floral garland. A man in a teal top and blue trousers stands at left, and a photographer with a camera is visible at right. The stone floor and granite walls suggest a temple precinct during a visit with prostration.2017-02-06A photograph of a temple floor where a person with long dark dreadlocked hair, wearing an orange-brown garment and a white flower garland, lies prostrate face-down in full obeisance. Standing around them are devotees in white dhotis with gold borders, one holding a bouquet of yellow and orange flowers in a maroon cloth, others in orange saffron robes with bare upper bodies and rudraksha beads, and a person in a turquoise jacket and blue track pants. A seated woman in orange at left has ash marks on her forehead. Grey stone pavement and carved stone pillars frame the scene.2017-02-06A photograph of a temple floor scene where a person with long dark dreadlocked hair, a white flower garland and orange-brown cloth lies prostrate, face down with hands folded near the head, in a full pranam. Around them stand devotees and priests in white dhoti with gold borders, saffron-orange robes and a blue tracksuit. One man on the right holds a red-and-white cloth with a yellow-and-orange flower garland, and a photographer with a camera stands at the top. Red flower petals are scattered on the grey stone floor. The prostrate figure's build and dreadlocks are a probable match for a person from distinctive visible cues, though the face is not visible.2017-02-06May 08 20122012-05-08February 06 20172017-02-06August 17 20122012-08-17A photograph inside a stone temple of a bare-backed man in an orange-brown dhoti lying prostrate in full-length obeisance on a dark grey granite floor. Garlands of white jasmine and orange-yellow flowers lie near his head, and a rudraksha mala is visible on his wrist. Beside a dark stone plinth, a few other people in saffron and orange robes and white-and-gold dhotis stand around, their bare feet visible. The scene reads as a devotional act of surrender at a temple shrine.2018-04-29A photograph of an outdoor temple courtyard with a stone-paved floor, wet and marked with white kolam designs. In the centre a man in an orange robe lies prostrate face-down on the ground in a full-length obeisance, his head toward the left, while attendants watch. Around him, a row of onlookers stands with hands folded, including women in colourful saris and men in white dhotis and shirts. Two shaved-headed men in orange robes stand near a black cloth held open, and another in orange holds a small brass plate with offerings. Stone pillars, a gopuram-style tower and a small shrine structure form the background of a temple precinct.2011-09-26July 18 20152015-07-18 +1 copiesAugust 17 20122012-08-17
