An outdoor crowd gathers under trees at dusk, with many people seated on the ground and others standing and moving between them. In the foreground, a tall pole carries a red and gold banner with embroidered flowers and a white dove motif, flanked by a golden kalasha-style finial. Men in white shirts and dhotis, women in yellow, orange and purple saris, and people in saffron clothing appear among the crowd. A garlanded golden vessel sits near a cloth-covered area with plates and offerings. A figure in an orange-red turban and orange garment stands at center, behind a decorated palanquin draped in garlands and bright flowers. Devotees in white and yellow clothing crowd around, some with hands folded. Above the scene a red-and-white ceremonial umbrella is visible, with a long wooden staff topped with a brass finial at the upper left. Shops line the street with signboards including a 'SK LAK' sign and a Cambridge advertisement. A small lit lamp glows in a shrine-like stall at center. A blue caption reads 'Mandakpadi offering'.2025-01-07Outdoor evening procession under tall dark trees with a dusk sky. A large crowd of mostly men in white shirts and dhotis presses forward, many raising their hands. At centre a decorated palanquin or ratha topped with a golden ornamental structure and a red and gold canopy is carried above the crowd. Ceremonial items include a silver trident, a silver staff with a star finial, a metal kalasha-shaped pot, and long poles with brass finials. Several people wear saffron/orange shawls and orange cloth. A large red and gold decorated umbrella-style canopy with striped fringe stands to the right. The scene reads as a temple or ashram procession with devotees joyfully following the chariot.2010-11-11December 20 20192019-12-20
