A night-time photograph of a crowded blue tarpaulin tent on open grass, lit by a bright harsh lamp. Several people in blue vests and dark clothing work at a low table, rolling and preparing flatbreads and dough balls, while others stand behind them. A man in the right foreground wears a dark knit cap, a face covering and an orange scarf, holding a plate of food. Blue plastic drums and a wicker basket sit at the edges. Litter lies on the ground. No recognisable a person figure is visible.2011-08-042011 - Glimpses Of KailashYatraPhotograph at dusk or night of a campsite on open grass with large dark green canvas tents in the background. In the foreground a person in a blue high-visibility vest with reflective yellow bands and a yellow helmet stands facing away from the camera, wearing white gloves and dark trousers. To the left a group of people in layered jackets, including yellow and blue outerwear and backpacks, stand close together near a parked vehicle. Distant snow-capped mountains are faintly visible under a dim blue sky.January 07 20122012-01-07 +1 copiesAugust 08 20122012-08-08Night-time community kitchen under a striped awning in a cyclone relief camp, with large dark steel cooking pots and lids on the muddy ground under bright tube lights. Several women in blue, green and red saris wear head coverings and hairnets; one stirs a pot, others stand and serve. Orange and red patterned cloth hangs behind, and a few steel vessels and ladles lie on the pots.2012-01-06A night-time food-packing scene under a tent lit by fluorescent tubes. A man in an orange saffron robe with a long rudraksha mala, a striped orange-and-white turban and a shell-like ear ornament stands at a large steel pot of cooked rice, using a ladle to scoop it into a plastic bag. Around him, volunteers in striped head coverings, teal and mint hair nets and aprons pack and hold food trays, and a man in a red polo shirt watches. Colourful cloth panels hang behind them.2012-01-04Night-time outdoor food preparation under a blue-and-white tarpaulin canopy at a relief camp. A bald man in a cream shirt and white dhoti stands at left, looking toward the work table. Another man in white with a white dhoti and mesh cap sits and stirs a large steel pot of rice. Women in green hairnets, one in a yellow t-shirt, a teal tunic and white saris, pack food and wrap foil at a long metal table. Pans and foil packets sit on the table and on a small stool; a tree and rope stand behind them.2012-01-03January 06 20122012-01-06Night-time photograph of a large outdoor tent with striped and patterned fabric canopy and bright fluorescent tube lights. Dozens of people, many seated in rows on blue and silver tarpaulin mats, sit with palms pressed together in prayer or devotion. Most wear white clothing with green head coverings, and some wear orange or saffron garments. A large metal pot and a blue barrel sit in the foreground, with cooking activity visible in the background. The gathering appears to be a relief-work setting.2012-01-07A photograph of a dim, candlelit room where a row of people sits along a long wooden table, lit by several flickering candles in the foreground. Strings of small flags, including a Union Jack and other national flags, hang along the ceiling. Foreground figures wear dark puffy jackets and orange shawls, one person wears a knitted beanie and glasses, and others smile toward the camera. No figure in the scene can be confidently matched to a person's appearance, so this remains a group gathering of devotees and visitors rather than a clearly identified ritual or discourse.August 20 20062006-08-20
