A decorated wooden processional cart is covered with marigold and white flower garlands, with a gilded canopy overhead and a deity murti at its centre. Brass vessels, banana bunches and fruit offerings sit on the cart platform. Around it, a crowd of mostly shaven-headed men in white dhotis and orange clothing stands with palms pressed together in devotion, a few people in red and orange clothing among them, and a man in a white shirt watches from the road edge.
