August 01 20082008-08-01September 19 20062006-09-19A photograph taken under a thatched bamboo-pole shelter with an open red-earth floor and a plain whitewashed wall behind. A long-haired figure in a saffron-orange shawl and orange garment walks barefoot across the earth, holding a wooden staff. Beside them, two men in white dhotis and white shirts walk and talk; one gestures with an open hand. Several other men stand in the background, including one in a white shirt with an orange shawl and another in a checked lungi, with a small child in a striped shirt at right. Trees and cloudy sky are visible beyond the shelter. Whether the saffron-clad figure is a person cannot be confirmed from appearance; the long swept-back hair and saffron clothing are present but the figure is only partly distinct, so the candidate is marked unsure.2006-09-23Outdoor photograph of a thatched-roof ashram building with a bamboo lattice wall on a dirt ground. Several men stand around in conversation: one bare-chested young man with long curly hair wears an orange cloth wrap and holds a long bamboo pole, while others wear white shirts and white dhotis, and one wears an orange shawl. Three framed portraits of a smiling bearded man in a white turban hang on the wall, and a man in white stands in the doorway on the left.2006-09-19February 05 20092009-02-05December 07 20072007-12-07September 16 20062006-09-16August 05 20092009-08-05A photograph of a group gathered on a dirt path in front of a thatched-roof white building with blue doors and a small fence. A figure in a bright orange dhoti with long, dark, uncovered hair and a bare chest stands at left, pointing toward the group. In the centre, a bearded man in an orange robe and orange turban faces them, with other men in white dhotis and orange shawls around him. On the right, a long-haired man in a yellow robe and a bearded man in orange robes stand near men in white shirts and white dhotis wearing orange shawls. Green trees and a cloudy sky are in the background.2007-08-09A photograph of a dirt courtyard beside a thatched-roof open shelter with a white-walled water tank and buckets at right. Several young men walk in a loose line across the yard: on the left, shaven-headed men in white dhotis and white shirts with orange shawls; in the centre, a man in an orange robe and orange shawl walks in front of the group. Trees and a bamboo fence stand behind them, and a white-clothed man is visible near the shelter.2007-12-07A line of about fifteen people stands on a dirt path in front of thatched-roof buildings with white walls and large windows, with trees behind. Most are dressed in saffron and orange robes, including several sadhus with shaved heads and orange shawls, while others wear white dhotis and shirts, a red top with blue lungi, and a long brown robe. A bearded man in the centre wears a green shawl over white clothes and an orange head wrap, and a woman in orange has a garland of beads around her neck. Two people on the right in orange shawls walk away from the group, and one person in the line holds a small object. The scene appears to be a gathering or queue at an ashram.2009-12-30February 10 20072007-02-10 +1 copies
