The figure is a statue wearing an orange turban, saffron robe with a maroon shawl, and a multi-strand rudraksha mala. Peacock feathers flank the throne and an orange drape hangs behind it. A framed portrait above is labelled in Tamil script, and brass oil lamps, a kalasha-style vessel and offering plates sit on a rug before the throne. A standing fan appears at right. No physical people are present. The figure is a statue, so this is a depiction, but it is not clearly identifiable as a person from the page alone.A young male priest in white dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala stands at left, holding a brass aarti lamp with a lit flame toward a white marble statue of a seated figure on a dark wooden throne. The statue wears a pale headwrap, a garland of white flowers, and a bead necklace, with its right hand raised in blessing. Behind it hangs an orange draped backdrop with gold leaf motifs and a framed printed portrait of a saffron-robed figure seated under a banyan tree, captioned in Tamil. The setting is a lattice-walled shrine with green leaf decoration. This is a puja with aarti before a statue, not a living person.2012-04-07A seated white statue of a figure in saffron-orange robes sits on a red-and-maroon throne decorated with white leaf-vine carvings and a dove emblem.
