December 12 20092009-12-12A craftsman sits barefoot on a floor in a workshop, working on a curved copper or bronze arc held over a wooden block. He wears a white short-sleeved shirt, white dhoti with a reddish-orange border, and a white sacred ash line with a red dot on his forehead. Tools, rods, scraps of paper and a blue drum lie around him, and a large carved relief panel rests on the floor at right.2009-07-19Close-up photograph of a craftsman's hands chasing a decorative relief design into a copper-coloured metal plate resting on a cloth-covered surface. He is seated, wearing a dark dhoti with a gold-yellow border, and holds a hammer and chisel-like tools against the embossed floral and scrollwork pattern. No face is visible. The workshop setting shows metalwork being shaped by hand.2011-10-22Close-up photograph of an ornate copper-coloured metal object with repoussé floral and scroll patterns and beaded borders. Blurred dark figures and a hand or tool appear at the upper right and in the background, out of focus. No legible faces are visible. The metal shows a reddish-brown patina with some green oxidation at the edges.2011-10-22A photograph of a dusty ground littered with large corroded metal fragments, apparently damaged or disassembled sculptural parts with a reddish-brown patina and gold-toned streaks. Two curved copper-coloured pieces with embossed scroll and swirl patterns lie in the foreground, and a larger plated fragment with a worn, scorched look rests behind them. A pink plastic basket, a hammer, pliers, scattered paper and a stone block sit among the debris. No people are visible and no a person candidate appears in the scene.2009-12-19November 29 20132013-11-29An older man with grey hair and a grey beard sits cross-legged on a paved floor, working on a large reclining golden metal figure in the foreground, polishing or chiselling its surface with a handheld tool. He wears a striped light-blue and white short-sleeved shirt and a white dhoti. The reclining figure shows ornate embossed patterns on its garments and a raised hand. Behind him are stacked wooden planks, a rusty iron ring, a large grey disc-shaped mould and sacks.2015-04-28A close photo of weathered, reddish-brown wooden or carved sculptural parts lying on a dusty concrete floor. A large carved bird-like head or beak section with a curved bill sits centre-right, a second cylindrical carved piece with a hooked tip lies at lower left, and a green coconut is partly visible at the bottom. Pliers rest on the floor between the carved pieces, and an ornately carved golden-toned panel runs along the upper left edge. No people are visible.2009-09-03Photograph of carved wooden and metal architectural elements lying on the ground against a dark earthen wall. Large ornate carved wooden panel with scrolling foliage and scalloped fan-like motifs dominates the left, beside a metallic copper-toned fitting with a cylindrical sleeve and a dark bronze-coloured domed piece. A carved wooden border strip with floral relief lies at the right edge over white cloth and wooden planks. A partially visible hand appears at the bottom right corner. No people are prominently visible and no ceremony is shown.2009-12-11Close photo of a seated man's hands working on a reddish clay pot or vessel resting on a flat stone surface, with a wooden tool or hammer above and a stone block beside him. He wears white cloth with gold trim and a rudraksha mala, and a small round pendant with a portrait hangs on his chest. Only his hands, legs and upper body are visible, and his face is not shown.2009-12-19A large copper-coloured sculpted pair of feet, with toes and an arched sole detail, lies on a sandy floor in a workshop or work area, apparently partly coated in plaster or cast material. A sheet of newspaper lies behind it and a small torn packet sits to the right. Behind and beside the feet are partially visible similar copper-toned sculptural forms, and the rough, unfinished setting suggests the statue is in fabrication. No people are visible.2009-09-06December 10 20062006-12-10 +1 copies
