A procession on a dirt path lined with banana plants and palm trees. A central figure in long flowing saffron-orange robes with a matching orange head covering and a gold-bead mala walks with eyes lowered. Beside him, a figure in orange with a red shawl and gold necklace carries a silver tray. Behind them, a bearded man in orange robes walks at the right edge. On the left, men in white dhotis with yellow shawls carry a brass vessel and a golden staff, and two ornate multicolored parasols with tasselled fringes and bird motifs shade the group. A trident-topped staff rises at the right. The setting suggests a ritual walk, possibly toward a sacred water site.2010-01-02January 02 20102010-01-02 +1 copiesDecember 23 20082008-12-23December 23 20082008-12-23December 23 20082008-12-23 +1 copiesDecember 30 20072007-12-30December 23 20082008-12-23November 16 20092009-11-16December 28 20082008-12-28December 23 20092009-12-23January 02 20102010-01-02 +1 copiesA procession outdoors on a paved path under bright hazy sunlight. Several men in saffron-orange robes walk in a line; a central figure with long dark hair, a multicolour flower garland and a gold pendant walks ahead and smiles, with hands joined in greeting. Behind him, saffron-clad attendants wear gold-pendant malas, and one holds a tall gold staff. Large ornate parasols in red, green and blue with fringed tassels are carried overhead, and orange flags fly in the background. On the right, a woman in a white sari with an orange shawl and red kumkum carries a brass pot topped with green leaves and yellow flowers. Spectators stand in the distance.2008-12-23
